Can a villager move in if i..

If i put items on the ground, like furniture or bells or something - can a villager place their house there when they wanna move in? Like does it prevent them for being able to put down their house if you have stuff in the way

unfortunately, no, it does not. the items will only disappear, and if you have the police station, they will appear in the lost and found. otherwise those items are gone forever.

Yeah I left some flowers (purple hybrids) and my fossils in one spot, forgot all about them and the fact that I had asked Kyle to move in and his plot would be appearing the next day....gone were my fossils and hybrids 'it that I minded, small price to pay for Kyle.
But no, unfortunately nothing you can place there (besides a PWP) could stop a villager moving in on that spot
