campsite villager can't join because town is full?

hi!

so i spent a total of 3 days searching for bones and finally came across him in my campsite. i begged this mans to join my island, and he finally gave in, but when he went to resident services he said the island was full-- i thought that if you keep asking they'll eventually ask to kick someone out? do i just have to keep trying? im at a loss haha. i cant find answers anywhere!

i also kept losing the mini games but now he isnt asking me to play the games at all, so i dont know if that plays a part in it..

Keep ask him to moves in and he will chooses someone to kick out. I got Ankha from the campsite and I have 10 villagers in my island and she refuses 3 times and for the 4 try, she finally decides to move in and to kick out someone of my island.

Keep trying! When he tells you that he went to resident services, you were on the right track - just tell him that you heard someone was planning to move and he will suggest someone to replace.

If that suggestion is not someone you would want gone, exit the game without saving and try again, next time he can suggest a different one

This is important: Bones will randomly pick a villager to move out in his place. If you let the game save, his choice will not change. If he picks someone you don't want to move out, reset the game immediately, talk to him again, and he should choose a different villager.

ahahah i just feel crazy because i've ran through his dialogue a little less than 200 times now! i feel like by now he would have asked to kick someone out? he just says the same thing over and over again, "there's no more land for sale on your island, so i can't move here! total downer." i can't suggest that someone was trying to move either, i'm concerned i accidentally missed that option when button smashing.

ahh i'll keep trying for a little bit more, and if i finally get him to kick someone i'll update here.

Oh wait do you have the 10 villagers already? Because that sentence ''there's no more land on sale'' happened to me when I had a campsite visitor with 8 villagers, and thus they won't kick out anyone because the game knows you can get a plot free for them

Do you have 10 plots down? I don't think he'll ask to kick someone out unless you have 10 plots all taken

if you have under 10 villagers u should just run to tom nook and build a plot really fast for him

Then just keep trying, at some point you'll win the game or they'll just accept, if when they choose another villager they choose one that you don't want to let go, quickly (without saying yes or no), quit the game to try again

Im absolutely not trying to be rude but can you show us a screenshot of ur map? Or try and go ask Tom Nook anyway? I've seen this same thread multiple times and the person always realized that they actually did have another plot they could build, they just got mixed up for some reason or another.

If you really truly have all 10 filled and he's not asking to replace someone, then... I'm pretty sure you've encountered a glitch.

ACTUALLY okay, I think I just figured it out. I took a run around my island and found that one of my villagers wanted to move out. when I said no, that's when it worked.

I hope this helps someone in the future!! I should have looked sooner hahaha

Ahh ok! Interesting. I never heard of that being the fix but let's hope it becomes more common knowledge, glad you figured it out :>
