campsite question?

i’m new to this and i’m not sure how all this works yet, but i haven’t been able to find an answer to my question anywhere else, so i thought i’d try this!

my town currently has 10 residents, i was wondering if, let’s say, someone has a resident i want whom is moving out, if i ask them to come to my island, (if i’m even able to) would they come and stay at my campsite and then would i be able to move them in? or do i just have to wait until i have an open plot available?

You would need an open plot. You will not be able to invite the villager without one. The campsite only spawns random villagers of personalities you may need most times...or used to scan in amiibo cards.

Getting a villager from another player always requires an empty, unsold plot on your own island.
