The person who gifted me the December and November could
You can gift the birthstone if you bought it in the first place, but if you received the birthstone as a gift you can't, the gifting option will have been removed. I know this to be a fact as have previously gifted a birthstone to a friend successfully but also tried to gift one on that had been gifted to me and the option was no longer showing.
