This may be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway, as I wouldn't want to throw away money on something I won't be able to use nor return. I am in the U.S., and have a 3DS from here, and get all my games, including NL, from here. Now, I know there are different NLs varied by regions, such as Europe, Japan, etc., but my question is, would I be able to play a copy of NL from a different region (Europe, in my particular case) on my North American 3DS? Also, if I am able to play it, would it be different? As in, would I be playing with those holidays and such that are specific to that region (like Autumn Moon that European version celebrates but the U.S. does not)?

I'm asking because I'm considering buying a copy from another region, to be able to experience the differences 1st hand (not just visiting someone else's town). Thanks in advance for the help

I'm pretty sure you can, I remember when New Leaf first came out in just Japan and there were a load of American gamers online that got hold of the game, it was just all in Japanese. But, I'm also not sure whether they just had 3DS's from Japan as well?

I remember that back in the ol' DS days you couldn't play a European or Japanese copy of a game with DS from U.S. I'm thinking that the same thing applies for the 3DS, too.

No, if you want to play the Japanese version of NL, you'll need a Japanese console. It works the same way for European games.

You aren't missing much tbh. :( I have the European version and it misses a lot of the American holidays and I think we only get one extra in return. :/ Europe kind of gets the short end of the stick. The berliner is a nice item though. ^^
