So I've noticed a lot of people having trouble with the Bug-Off.

Doing the event solo, I managed to complete the entire thin in 75-80 minutes running, so I thought I'd give a sample layout to help people out for next month's event.

I had other buildings in the area too, but this worked for me.

On one side of your Resident Services building, have a field of about 50 flowers. Out of view of those 50 flowers, have another field of 30 or so flowers on another side of the building. On one of the others sides, you can have trees (and stumps), although the flowers and open space will be where you spend most of your time.

It does not matter if you have buildings around or between those fields, as long as you have easy access to them.

In the flower fields, you'll have plenty of Stink Bugs, Mantis, Orchid Mantis, and Butterflies. The open space will be for finding any Grasshoppers, Dragonflies, or Butterflies. Often times you'll see several butterflies in the Resident Services area as well. The tree area is back-up, if you don't see any bugs in the flowers, run through the trees and stumps for any beetles, or any butterflies hovering about. In the off chance you don't see any in any area, check the rest of the island for about 15-20 seconds and then run back.

The key is making sure that the fields are out of view of each other so that they have a chance to spawn bugs "off-screen", and by keeping them near the Resident Services, you won't have to travel far at the start.

Follow this pattern and you should easily be catching anywhere from 11 to 22 bugs per round, allowing you to finish up in ~25 rounds.

I hope this helps all of you prepare for the next Bug-Off!

Wouldn't all stumps be better since you can swing at the beetles from all angles?
This is just what I naturally had in my area. I only had 1 stump I used for bugs. If all stumps work for you, then do that. :)
