Bug-off or fish-off?

Uh... yeah. Which tournament to you enjoy more? ^^

I liked the fish-off a lot, probably because I just used fishbait. I'm not a fan of bug-off because the prizes are kinda boring and bugs are so skittish or hard to see.

Bugs are more interesting to catch imo. I also do NOT like crafting fish bait.

But I'd say overall both are pretty meh after you do them once.

Fish-off because more of the rewards are actually practical in decorating. Most of the bug items require dedication to a bug or wild theme.

bug off all the way ! i suck at fishing tbh and bug catching seems easier and less time consuming. i have no patience when playing acnh is the lesson lollll

I chose bug-off, but you are really right about the fish bait. It’s so easy to just use fish bait and do pretty decent every time in the fishing tourney. Where with the bug off one time I caught only one bug . It does make the bug off a bit more exciting though. I also feel over all the fishing prizes are better, except I love the aloha shirt and bug cage purse and they are probably my favorite prizes overall.

so basically, mixed feelings, but yeah, bug off for me I guess.

also, though it has no bearing on the events, I love flock and am meh on cj, so I just like seeing flick more!

I’d have to say fish-off! I’m better at catching fish than bugs, and I use the items from the fish-off more. My only favorite furniture item from the bug-off is the Artisanal Bug Cage or however it’s titled. There seems to be more variety with decorating with the fish-off items.

Bug off, definitely. My island is still very open and undeveloped, so it's very easy to catch 10+ bugs in a single round and feel like you're making progress (since you're earning a whole reward each time you play a round). I've never managed that with the fishing tournament, if only because of the 'nibbling' fish do when you cast out your rod.

That said I've gone a bit crazy with the bug-off yesterday, and I might never play another round if they don't add different rewards.

I would say bug off for the level of fun and fish off for the prizes.

Both actually in terms of prizes, they're sorta equal for repeats. 2 for bug off and 3 for fish off.

I find the bug-off more enjoyable, even if I am bad at catching bugs. I also just really hate CJ... I don't like how he takes pictures of me after every round. I have still participated in both to get all the prizes though.

the best prize from the bug-off is the artisanal big cage which is actually a dresser. i was lucky enough to get one yesterday so yay for that

bug off, it was fun and grinding was ok. the fishing was unpleasant, fish suck, they ignore the lure, will take several seconds to catch especially when the clock is down to 10

I think I have to choose the Bug-Off. It feels more engaging and fun to try to catch as many as possible to me, plus I can never have enough Spider Webs.

The Fishing Tournament has seemed to me to be a bit of a dud because you have to rely on the fish shadows actually being present, leading to a bunch of running around not finding anything. Plus, fish can be a bit more of a hassle because they can take multiple trips to the bobber before actually biting, slowing the whole process down and sometimes costing you a fish that could've counted toward the catch total. I've never yet used fish bait in a Fishing Tournament since I never really have any on hand in substantial amounts, but I might try it next time just for the heck of it. I kind of wish the Fishing Tournament still operated like the ones from previous games though.

Bug Off for me. I find it much easier to get a higher score, partially because I don't need to wait for the fish to nibble which takes longer. I also enjoy running all over my island finding bugs, rather than just focusing on the ocean/ rivers.

ive always liked catching bugs more than fishing bc u actually know which bug ur up against while the fish is an unknown contender. i also enjoy our lizard lad and his dialogue more and i rly like the rewards (the bugs and spiderwebs rly just speak to me. also the ladybug items r very lovely 10/10).

They got lazy.

The prizes for the fishing are slightly better than the bug off, but not worth doing either again as the prizes aren't good enough to bother doing it again.

Bug off bc it’s easier to catch the bugs and you don’t need to craft fish bait

the fishing one has better rewards but I just don’t like having to craft fish bait and then the fish slowly hitting your bob and taking up time..

I feel like 5 minutes per round would be a bit better, especially with fishing. I see the biggest problem with fishing is if you go without bait you’re relying on luck with shadow placement (which is a royal pain under a strict time limit).

I just prefer the way it has been since 2005.
