When you create your town/look at a town that looks really nice, do you think all bridges should be of the same type, or not? And which is your favourite bridge type?
My town has two fairytale bridges and a wooden bridge. The wooden bridge is probably my favourite - the path I made that I really like is kind of colour-coordinated with the fairytale bridge but as other things in my town are fairytale themed I don't think it'd look out of place to have all wooden bridges possibly. I was going for a fairytale themed town originally but don't think I want to stick too strictly to it - could it work well to have a somewhat fairytale themed town but have some different PWPs and colours mixed in, providing the things used look nice together?
If it flows well, then I think two of the same type with one different type of bridge can really make a good difference. I personally like all my bridges to be the same since my towns are kind of uniform in color/design.
My favorite bridge types are the Wooden Bridge and Red Brick Bridge. The funny thing is that I don’t have either unlocked for Komorebi because I haven’t destroyed one and farmed to get it requested by a neighbor. I want to, but I’m also lazy. Blah. ;-;
I like to use the same bridges in my town because I'm OCD like that, but I have visited towns with different bridges that still looked nice. If the bridges are in areas that are landscaped differently, it really works well. Just make sure the path or paths that you use make sense with each bridge.
And I definitely don't think you have to stick to strictly fairytale theme. I started with a zen theme in mind, but didn't want all zen villagers and so I split my town in two halves based on the river. One side is zen, the other side is my non-themed residential area. I may be biased but I think it can work. Again, just make sure the different areas don't clash like you already stated.
I would say if it fits with the style of the town, then it's a good idea to use two bridges from
the same type and one from a different type. I used most of the time the same type for all
three bridges, but I also had a few times two bridges of the same type and one which was
different.
My favorite bridge type is the wooden one, even if my villagers unfortunately never requested
me it. Otherwise, I like to use the suspension bridge.
It sounds like it works, and you're happy with it, so I'd keep it. My bridges are fairly close together, so I went with all fairy tale, but now that I'm thinking about it, the top one connecting the Plaza (where the classic police station is) and center of town (cedar forest, The Roost, and campsite) could look good with something more rustic. If I could be certain of setting a replacement in just the right spot, I'd demolish and change, but I'm a little nervous about that and don't want to have to replant the entire area.
