Bridge Public Works Projects?

In my town I am attempting to make my peppy or normal villagers ping me for a Fairy Tale bridge. However, I haven't had any luck for the last several months. I have them sort of cornered right now so I can just do the diving trick and come back to see if they ping me but they haven't pinged me about any PWPs.

Now, my question about this is, should I have them cornered near the river for them to suggest the bridge?

Does your town already have 3 bridges? According to the Wikia, villagers will not request new bridges if that is the case. Also, the Fairy-tale bridge is requested by peppy villagers only, so you should be focusing your efforts on them. Other than that, I always seem to have trouble with the bridge projects as well. Perhaps it's just unlucky RNG. Just keep trying and I'm sure they will ping you about it eventually.

This. I once made this mistake and it cost me about two weeks of stress. At least I unlocked a lot of other PWPs in the process, I guess? e-e

My town only has two bridges at the moment.

It could be just since you want one SPECIFIC project, and they can actually ping you for 1-6 or 7, depending on how many they have, that it's just hard to get.

I find that being friendly does help a bit. Not to say the others can't ping you (they have for me). Also, if they see you actually play, like take care of your town, shop, ect... they seem more likely. I find it hard to get them to ping me after I haven't played for a few days. But when I am playing consistently, I got 3 pings for 3 days in a row.
