Does anyone know how many extra spaces a bridge needs in order to be accepted by Isabelle?

The bridge itself is 2x4 squares (vertical) but I already experienced that it needs additional space on land, free from houses, buildings and other projects, in order to be accepted. But how much extra space is required and does it only involve the space within the length of the bridge or also surrounding squares?

I don't want to be surprised again when I suddenly can't place the new bridge, after demolishing one that can't be put back.

I've tried to calculate this, but i'm not 100% sure. horizontal it seems that it's 4x4 on each side of the bridge, like this:

# is free/"extra" space needed
~ is water
= is bridge

once it's placed, the free space is reduced to 1x4 like this:

#~~~~#
#====#
#====#
#~~~~#

vertical i'm not sure about... but you needed info on a horizontal bridge so i hope this helped you!

I actually meant vertically, so you can run north to south. (it's late) :rolleyes:

Thank you for sharing that plausible info. I also thought it was in lines of a 4x4 area.

*hugs* xD
But I think I counted the vertical spaces because I was having trouble with the vertical spaces the most. Since Diana's house was in danger of getting TTed out. Each time I had to count the spaces North of Diana's house. ;w;

oh haha... i've tried building it vertically too, but the weird thing was that it needed LESS space? i had a pile of pipes on one side of the river and it could get as close as this:

0 is land
p is pile of pipes

so i really don't see any logic in this! anyway :^( see what you can make of it
