Bridge nightmares - a ruined village

I've been having a great time in my game so far. I have 9 of my 10 dreamies, have a perfect map, and been steadily unlocking pwp. I was so happy to finally unlock the faerie-tale bridge today. I tore down a suspension bridge but when I went to put up a faerie tale bridge in the exact same spot, it won't let me, claiming it's too close to a villager's house =( I cannot really move it slightly over either because it's either by the waterfall where no bridges can be built, or too near villager's homes. The layout of my town is completely ruined now. My only option is getting rid of Ruby, which is just heartbreaking to consider. I can't not have a bridge in that area because the flow of my town is absolutely destroyed without it. Doing the 16 villager cycle for just one villager is going to take too long to be realistically possible. I'm just totally heartbroken right now and lost on what to do.

Is there any way that you can tweak the layout of your town just a little? It might be worth it since it seems like you love everything else so far!

It might take a little getting used to, but it seems sad to let Ruby go just for that.

unfortunately, I don't have many other options. I have such a small river I only actually need 2 bridges. Because of it's small size, however, I'm limited in where I can place them. I would have been more than happy to make a small adjustment to where I'd place the bridge if it meant everything could have been okay. I'm usually pretty flexible about something as simple as a bridge. In this case, I'm quite trapped though =(

I will be able to in a few days. I understand a picture would be a lot more helpful. I'm overseas at the moment and not at a place I can use my computer

The same thing happened to me during the summer. I decided to change the bridge to a wooden one and forgot about villager houses placements. Removed the middle one and found out Muffy house was in the way. Removed another bridge to see if it could be moved up more but Isabelle was a huge pain and kept saying no but finally gave in after 30 minutes. Instead of up she said yes to down one tile. Fixed that one. The middle bridge I kept trying but no way would she allow it so I let Muffy go when she asked to leave. It was sad and I have the goodbye letter with her picture in my saved mail.

The problem with my guest town is three villagers decided to move close to the river. I should have used a small PWP to keep them away from the bridges. Plot resetting doesn't work in my town with 4 players. Put the windmill where Muffy house was.
