I broke my original ds a couple years ago while in a pokemon battle, it broke because i was shaking the screen. Also, i broke my a button repeatedly tapping it trying to catch a pokemon.
I once broke a handheld console, and that was my original Nintendo DS. That happened right after I was outraged by how I didn't got three stars on my second attempt at Mario Kart DS on 150cc Lightning Cup, and then proceeded to slam my fist as hard as hell at the handheld. Then, the screen is fractured inside and we see a dark blotch on it.
Then, we got a white DS Lite and played it for less than a year. Then, the funky persistent red tint appeared for no apparent reason and had my Dad contacting at Nintendo just to get it replaced by another one. This one managed to get a cracked left hinge after months and months of playing. Didn't bothered to replace it, since I was getting a DSi anyway.
10 or so months later, I started to realize that the R button isn't working properly and had to ship the hardware again to get it replaced. Now that one is fine and dandy, but I lent it to my sibling.
Aside from very few imperfections, my 3DS hardwares are all in great condition, save for my Ice White Japanese 3DS who has a tendency to crash during a session of Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
omg one time when i was little (maybe around 9-10 years old) i was getting myself dinner and i got myself a big tall glass of lemonade and i was going downstairs to watch some tv and my ds lite was right next to the chair and i accidentally spilled the lemonade on my ds! luckily it didnt break, but omg i was so scared ; _ ;
other than that i've never broken any of my gaming systems.
