Maybe this is why they closed Nsider. Otherwise th internet woulda crashed today.
Haha...true

:)

Anyways...anybody notice on the character selection screen that Zero Suit Samus is selected from the get-go? This leads me to believe one of two things: There will be no Final Smash moves online....or Zero Suit Samus actually has a Final Smash....interesting

;)

Brawl having online is indeed great news, but I'm disappointed with the battles with non-friends. Since you won't know who your playing against, and there is no ranking whatsoever, it will be like a training mode with a high-level computer (if you happen to find a skilled fighter). Oh well, at least we can use this practice to crush our friends.

:D

Amazing!

Thank god it wasn't just with Friend-code's. But, how would you have time to type a message as a brawl is going on?

I'm not sure of the reason for this either. I wonder how much complaining Nintendo got from uneven matchups and all the disconnects over the DS Wifi. This may be part of the reason (although a dumb one). However, for someone like me, who isn't great at SSB, this is actually a good thing so that my Win/Loss record doesn't look like this.... W-1/L-1001

This part actually excites me because quite frankly...I hate having those classifications from the get go. Think about it, there is no "psychology" games going on BEFORE the battle...as far as I'm concerned, when I jump in with somebody I don't know...I'm thinking they're my equal.

Of course as the battle wages on, you'll quickly figure out what's what

To your point about practice for friends...this much is true so it actually gives you as much incentive to go online with random people and practice as much as you can so you don't get beat down by your friends hehe. Anyways, that's just my .02 cents and I'm very excited about this news as it means one really good thing... I can play my brothers online and that makes this game from a no-buy to an insta-buy now!

It's preset messages actually. You create your messages before the battle and assign it to one of the D-Pad directional buttons. These messages are actually just short taunts that you create and when you're playing with friends (and friends only) you can push one of the four buttons and create this taunt....though I can see this getting annoying and possibly being a strategy (cheap one that is) because those message bubbles aren't opaque and kind of block the view...hmmm...I shall plan for this hehe.

It shows in the update picture that friend codes are the usual 12 digits long...

You guys expected anything else today? It's the 100th update, after all.
You were keeping track of this...hehe...I find that both funny and sad...I don't know why...
No, I wasn't, I was just reading the SSB board last night and they were saying that.

Why would that be any different? If the Friend Code uniquely identifies a console, I don't see how they can make it shorter.
