you have to have a GOOD reason to sue. that's not a good reason at all.
she was looking out for her son, like all mothers should do..
Man puts ladder up for work
Man falls after relising he was given the wrong kind of ladder.
He Sues
HE WINS.

Thats a bogus reason and i guess you call it a good reason, ACCORDING to the guy he'd been doing this work for like 10 years, SURELY he'd be able to tell what ladder was right to use and what wasnt.

Its like the Classic 'Burgler' thing

Burgler is on roof, falls through skylight onto a kitchen counter where a knife was, hitting his leg, he then sued and won 5,000$. IDK if its true, but you call that a good reason?

I think this sueing stuff has become OTT.
well i guess its more of what robert said then.

MOST of the time, it has to be a good reason. lol
Not really. You can seriously sue anybody for anything. There is people who sue people who accidentally hit them with a rock or something and get a lot of $$$.

I can't even explain my emotions right now....lol, yes I can.

Yeah, I feel pretty sorry for the mom, yes what she did was over the top, but getting sued by her own child must break her heart...this is why good parenting is important. The mother and child obviously did not have a great relationship here, and this situation just stresses how important it is to have one. Now then, if I were the mom I would not have changed the kid's password because that strains the relationship between them even more, but instead I would have confronted the child about what was said in a face to face conversation with him. To me that doesn't strain the relationship nearly as much as what she did, AND in my opinion does a better job at punishing the child...

My grandma sued my parents for no reason.

Then when i lived with my Grandma she TRIED to say she didnt...
I SAW THE DAMN PAPERS xD

this site is so lol... about the dreaded social networking sites. it's quite hilarious.

feel sorry for both the kid and the mom for being in a situation where this is even a big deal. like the mom said, it's exactly like going through a kid's room reading notes or a diary. facebook and other blogging sites are today's diaries and notes....

and to be honest, i mean if you hear your kid was driving home at 95 mph one night because he was mad at some girl... uh, i would hope you care enough to talk to them about it. maybe not go to the extent she did, but at least speak about it... unless you want your kid to continue habits that could potentially kill them.

look at it from this point of view - the kid didn't get found out and continued this behavior. he gets in a car wreck going 80 mph... gets killed. people look on his facebook to see if there's any kind of suicide notes, since people sometimes kill themselves that way, and after a death of a person "out of nowhere", they do that kind of checking anyway. they find his posts about regularly driving at high speeds, he's 16...

poor mom gets a bad name again! WHERE WAS SHE WHEN HER KID WAS POSTING THIS ON HIS SECIAL NETWORKING SITE?! she's a bad mother!

and for the rest of her life, she's know as "that mom who didn't take care of her kid."

poor lady didn't have a good way out anywhere.

Very stupid. It is is like the innocent some kid kills his parents because he can't play Halo. If your kids aren't mature, they shouldn't see mature things. Some people today though take these as their life.

@Sanji
You know that hitting your children it makes it worst? Same with grounding your kid and stuff. It is better to have a 1 on 1 on your daughter or son and discuss what happened then hitting your children or grounding them. And please don't think that your a adult who has children because you don't. You don't know crap about kids.
^
This, but as Pally said, it happens to kids all around the world.

Eh, my mom used to snoop on my facebook all the time. As long as she never did anything on it, I didn't mind.

But yeah, if she made it so I could neither get on my facebook OR email, fit would hit the shan. I may not take her to court, but I'd get both back. I've got plenty of nerdy hacker friends to help me. ^_^

It's kind of ridiculous that he would sue his mom but I do understand why he would be mad. It's one thing for a parent to see your facebook but to actually log on and change the password? Thats a little to much.

In order to have a fb I promised my mom I would friend her so she can see my page, but she has never actually logged on to my screen name and looked through all my inboxs, etc.

I hope the boy wins. It makes a statement. "I don't care who you are, and who's account you are hacking, its still illegal." Something like that comes to mind. If the mother wins, then I will be hacking my family's email accounts next month.
