Boring villagers dialogue

I really do miss how mean snooties and crankies were. The normals were always nice and shy, and I always loved them. The peppies I loved too because they weren't so self absorbed and fame hungry. I liked the lazies too because they were nice and sooo hungry. Queenie and Jane will always be the witches of AC to me solely for the reason that they were rude to me a lot and I wrote in my virtual diary in my AC house a lot. My villager had some very mean things to say about them.

Don't forget the super-charged miracle soap!

Oh yeah she loves to talk about that soap as much as Chrissy likes asking me about the latest town gossip.

Yeeh, hopefully the next animal crossing gameplay on console or which ever will have more new details and upgrades! but yeah I used to repeatedly talk to them until I think all their new conversations were put out or when they turn into thinking mode. I like when villagers have that idea shot expression when they seee you and want to talk to you then you find out you got a new awesome public works project suggested... <3

Totally agree! This is what I'd like to see improved in the next installment of the game. I know a lot of people want more control over their villager placement or map, and I'd like that too - but for me, a big part of why I fell in love with this game in the first place was the ability to befriend the villagers.

It may be my memory failing me, but I feel like there was more variety in conversations in Wild World and City Folk. It seems like there are about 10 different conversations you can have with each villager and that's it.

I'd like to see a system sort of like Harvest Moon (not romantic of course lol), but where you can feasibly see the improvement in your relationship. The ability to have a best friend, or just an acquaintance...more like real relationships :>

Even if that meant not creating new villagers for the next game in exchange for deepening the personalities of existing villagers...I would be ok with that!

i miss their emotions. i remember i used to get so mad because daisy would go into a glum state nearly everytime i talked to her. also snooties were genuinely verging on bullying, it was entertaining!

Yup, I wish the dialogues were more varied and distinct on every villager in the next game. Now I make up my villagers' personalities in my head instead! Okay, okay, I get it. I understand how to switch tools, stack fruits, and use the shovel. No need to repeat it everyday. The villagers shouldn't be annoyed if I keep on talking to them, I'm more annoyed because they say the same dialogue 2 times in a row. There are still a few nice dialogues, but they occur once in a blue moon.

I wonder how Uchis and Smugs would behave in the previous games, I bet Uchis are really cool and Smugs are lecherous villagers that could get along with Crankies and Snooties.

I've never played any of the old games, but the dialogue in this game does get repetitive. I kind of understand that it might be difficult to write so many things the vast amount of villagers could possibly say all the time, but since other people are saying how it used to be even more, I'm not sure. I know I've had more dialogue with my villagers the higher my friendship is with them. I've had actual conversations with Phil (for example) where he's asked me questions and we talk about it, or my villagers talking about each other for a while. So the repetitive stuff is annoying but I don't mind that much.

I don't know how the rest of you feel but I would be more than happy to pay for QUALITY bonus dialog as a DLC or in the form of Amiibo cards or something.

I love New Leaf... but I can barely talk to my villagers any more because they say the same things all the time.

Fuschia said something different to me the other day and I was completely shocked!

Yeah, I feel like I know almost every single dialogue of every villager personality, ever! I still talk to them even after I do them chores for them. Like they never have the time to do it themselves.

Because of Fuchsia I now know I can pick dust off of a carpet with duct tape.
Nintendo trying their hands at making life hacks.

That's their job, I have no sympathy for developers for making something bad/mediocre just because it takes a lot of time.
Yes is does take some time, and yes you have to be creative to come with original/fun/interesting dialogue. If you(devs) don't like going all in to make something great or if you're not "creative enough" to write interesting dialogue then the gaming industry is not for you imho.
In the end it's so so worth it.
So many great games are great because the devs liked to add just that extra feature, or just that extra detail that made the overall experience stand out. They had no time for mediocrity.

^ I agree with the above. The dialogue in New Leaf is definitely lacking and is nothing special... Even though I don't like all the personalities, I feel like I need all of them just so I don't have multiple villagers saying the same things to me! I often find myself fast forwarding through the convos as well because everything is just so repetitive. I remember even in WW whenever you turn in a fish Blathers would have a whole lot to say about it. Now he's just like, oh I wont bore you... and puts it away. Sucks :/ Good thing I play NL more for the landscaping and whatnot.
