Borderlands

Nobody besides you has played that game. Sorry.

I've played both 1 and 2. Both become really boring after a while, and they're really just long as hell FPS games. I like the new class skills in BL2 though.

"Wait a minute. Those cookies aren't chocolate chip. Those...are...raisins. WHYYYYYY-HY-HYYYYY?! SHAWTY, DESTROY ALL THE FOOD DISPENSERS! WIPE THE RAISIN ABOMINATIONS OFF THE MAP! I JUST WANTED CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES! WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE?" My favorite Tiny Tina quote

Oh and I love me some Bloodwing~

I played the first game to excess... I'm talking an obscene number of hours. I played it on my Xbox 360, and got every single achievement - even the ones from the tedious Underdome DLC. I completed at least one playthrough with every character, and Borderlands is still in my top 10 favorite games of all time. I thought Gearbox did an amazing job marrying two genres that typically don't mesh well together, and I still pop in my disc to farm Crawmerax on occasion. :D

BL2... not so much. I know that my opinion of the game falls in the vast minority, but I was pretty severely underwhelmed by essentially every aspect of the game. It seems they tried a bit too hard to make a game that appealed to the masses, much like the Mass Effect > Mass Effect 2 debacle. I definitely understand that this is a smart move from a monetary standpoint, but it seemed that they went a bit too far in their attempts to make the game humorous and pack it so full of pop culture references that it took away from the core elements that made the first game so great.

Ok first yes you are entitled to your opinion but I just have to say I'm so with you on ME2. Mass Effect 2 blah I'll save it!

I think gameplay wise Borderlands 2 was a huge improvement. Everything felt faster and bigger in scope. There were more bosses and I was able to get my friends to actually play so it was nice experiencing Boderlands 2 with a full group and tearing through content. I also loved the soundtrack. Now I know its not a perfect game but Gearbox really did an excellent job on the PC version. We had an actual FoV slider, graphic options, full mouse support so I can actually keybind everything I wanted too and we had none of that in the first game on PC.

I haven't played BL2 in forever so if anyone is up for some BL2 session add me on Steam!

Yep, I know that my opinion falls in the minority. I played both games on console, so I can't really comment about the ease in playing them on PC. I can definitely understand feeling like the gameplay in Borderlands 2 was a huge improvement if the original didn't have intuitive controls. I felt like the controls actually declined from BL1 to BL2 on console (shooting mechanics certainly seemed watered down), but I may have felt differently if the controls and mechanics were so bad that I couldn't enjoy the game for what it was. As for bosses, The original had 30 bosses compared to BL2's 45 (not including DLC) so I can see where you're coming from in that regard. :)

I'm more of a solitary gamer myself, so the fact that BL2 seemed to be built around cooperative gameplay didn't really suit my playstyle at all. I very much enjoyed feeling like a lone vault hunter on an alien planet, and the first game did a flawless job of capturing that. As I said before, I felt like BL2 was constantly trying to shove as much humor down my throat as possible, and I found it to be grating and obnoxious and took away from the whole experience. I did finish the game, but had no interest in playing it again or buying any of the DLC, even though I had the season pass from a preorder. This is a stark contrast to the first game, where I played both the game and all of the DLC more times that I care to admit... -_-

Anyway, I know that most people greatly enjoyed BL2, I'm just not one of them and will likely pass on the third game altogether. To each their own however! I'd not try to change anyone's opinion on the matter, but will always advocate for the original game if given the chance. :)

I loved 1. I need to finish playing through 2 though. I just don't always have the time. Also I'm definitely addicted to playing on my ds.

I pretty much played 1 to death, though I don't believe I ever finished Mad Moxxi DLC and General Knoxx legitimately. Had a glitch with Knoxx so that kind of soured the experience.

Two I played for a while and beat, though my saves were lost at some point which is completely upsetting. Never can seem to find time to go back and rebeat it, but since I've got it on PS Vita I might just do that.

I pre ordered the game and got her + the gearbox gold gun set and was proud of owning her...
Until she was released to the public... :(

I was going to pre order it until I found out that buying borderlands 2 came wit the first one so then I just bought the dlc for her
