Blathers not accepting my real art?

I want to unlock Brewster but I can’t because my museum doesn’t have a art exhibit yet. I bought a ton of real art on Nook’s Cranny about 30 minutes ago, I brought it to Blathers and he started rambling on about wanting to have art in the museum. I can’t really remember because I spam clicked A too many times and I have the attention span of a fly which is my fault. I tried giving him a 100% real Ancient Statue, I know it’s real because I looked at the real and fake guides and everything else but he still won’t take it. Is there something special I have to do? I’ve played the game since launch but I was never into donating to the museum so I can’t remember.

I checked it. I have real art, I checked various pieces of art and statues that I have in my pockets and all match real on the guides.

No, I got it from Nook’s Cranny. I don’t know if it’s a rule or something over there that you can’t sell art but I got it from some else. I asked for specially real art, they came to my island and dropped everything off then they left. I would link the thread but I don’t want to get anyone into trouble.

I meant like Nook’s Cranny the fourm board for selling, buying, and trading on this site. sorry for the lack of context and for the confusion. this was just me being an idiot, sorry everyone. I now know I have to get redd first before making art donations.

it’s not that i think they scammed me with fake art, it’s just that i had no idea that i was supposed to get redd to sail his ship to my island before donating.. that’s at least what i understand from somebody else’s post on this thread. at least i wouldn’t need to get him to sail over the old way now and i can just pay to unlock his shop at harv’s island.
