Black Screen Of Doom

Today i was eating out with some friends and stuff the 3ds was working perfectley then i went to turn it off and it went off then it went black to turn off and wont turn off so i try to turn it on the blue light is on still black,same thing happend with my old android you charge it it dose not hold a charge and the phone usb was messed up too couldent tell what your power reading was.
Its fully charged

I was going to open it and said leave it to the geek squad or nintendo to repair it

I took it to best buy when i needed my old 3ds repaired and the geek squad fixed it for 30 bucks over 150$

So im thinking its a software problem that would be bad or a replacement battery.

The same thing happened with my old blue 3ds and i changed the battery and it worked up to the point till i stopped using it for the purple one that is refurbished

I hope this is not a bad omen since friday the 13th tommarow.

I know this doesn't help much, but you're lucky because you're Best Buy bothered to try and fix it. When mine did the same thing, they just said get a new one. They never even looked at it. Also a question that might seem odd, is it a 3DS, 3DS XL/LL, or a 2DS?

The other day my 3DS XL was working fine, then when I opened it up from sleep mode the screen was black and would not show anything. I just held the power button down until the power light went off, then turned it back on. Worked fine after that.

If you can't even turn it on that's a hardware issue. Asking for advice from non-official representatives is more likely to worsen your situation. Just contact Nintendo...

Getting ready to pack my 3ds up and take it down to the store by my house that fixes the stuff for a living hopley its just the battery.

Im going to switch the battery's from my old 3ds that works with my new old 3ds that dosen't work and troubleshoot it and if that works then its streetpass time.

One time my friend dropped her red 3DS xl, was no major drop, maybe from waist height on a 5th grade girl and the screen was slammed shut by the fall but when she openned it the top screen worked but the bottom was completely black... She just turned off the 3DS and turned it back on and it was fine. I have had no issues with my Blue 3DS XL yet.. Except the circle pad is really scratchy and annoying feeling. I heard it is a common problem with 3DS XL's because of the not so smooth finish on the inside? Its more matte and rough

I know that this has happened to other people but I've had this Black Screen of Doom for only 4 or 3 times. But while letting my 3DS charge when turned on with Pokemon Y and once then I've woke up in the morning and saw that the screen turned black and it's was just plain easy. Just hold the power button until it goes to the shutdown menu.
