Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving in the US. It's mainly used for Christmas shopping/buying things with huge widespread deals. Almost always there's some form of violence and you can see them on YouTube or on the news usually a day after =P

Oh ok, thank you for explaining. :)

I see black friday as an excuse for people to go out and behave like feral ****ing animals for material items.

I'm gonna say 'no'. The violence and greed of people is horrifying, as well as the reports of serious injuries (and sometimes death) every single Black Friday.

People start lining up outside of stores 5am and earlier, and if you're working in a retail store on Black Friday......well, good luck to you. I had the misfortune to work at a toy store on a Black Friday. Thankfully, there was no pushing and shoving, but every register was open and lines still went all the way back, the place was MOBBED, and for every customer who was dealt with, five more popped up.

Also, nothing I ever want to get is on sale. >.>;;

Absolutely not.

If you're after a good deal, many stores (this applies especially for clothing stores) tend to have larger sales a few weeks before Thanksgiving. Right now a lot of stores are doing a 40-50% off on winter clothing! Just picked up some sweaters from Target and Macy's. Many of the 'deals' offered on Black Friday aren't even great deals.

There are many complications that come with Black Friday. For starters, many stores now open on Thanksgiving for Black Friday, causing many individuals to have less time to spend with their family during the holidays. I know that many people don't celebrate Thanksgiving as well, but even so it's a great time to take a breather from all the hard work during the winter season! On top of that, many accidents have occurred over the past few years due to Black Friday, and even resulted in some casualties.

If you're truly looking for a good bargain, do your research instead. Many of the items obtained by my friends and family during Black Friday went on sale the following week, making it almost pointless to go out. If you do decide to go out on Black Friday, please be respectful, kind, and safe.

I just buy stuff online. A lot of times there are sales all weekend and into Cyber Monday, and I don't have to wait in line for two hours to buy things. Also it sucks for everyone who has to go into work, especially since a lot of stores are starting to open on Thanksgiving.

At this point...I'm kind of hoping that my country goes full 'black friday'. I'm not too bothered about the discounts, I just want to see for myself people turning into feral animals over a discount toaster. It's just hard to believe that people are that...that...stupid!

Smash gets released tomorrow though...I really wouldn't mind if it got released another week later just to avoid 'idiot Friday'.

Black Friday is so stupid. As others have said, the discounts available then are usually available in the weeks leading up to Christmas; furthermore, all the retail employees have to deal with the savagery as early as 6 PM on Thanksgiving, a time when a lot of them would like to be home with their families.

Hell no.

Way to go 'Murrica, mutilating one another over mediocre discounts the day after Thanksgiving. Y'know, the day when we're supposed to be thankful for what we have?

There are better sales for almost everything scattered throughout the year. My parents and I got some killer discounts on some 32-inch TVs last year in late December.

No. Walmart is CRAZY. Thanksgiving night, you are driving home. There is cars parked all along the highway. No space in the parking lots. Even business' parking lots are filled. That is what I saw. And I live in a small valley.

No. So much violence and bizarre extremes to get discounts on stupid crap you could easily just order online. No, you might not get any of the magical discounts that has everybody rampaging in every Walmart across the nation, but it's convenient and nobody has to go in to their crappy job on a holiday where they should really be with their loved ones.

Who needs Black Friday when you have cheap 99 cent stores?

A bit under-exaggerated but I hope you get my point.

I think it depends where you live, but It's pretty bad everywhere. My old town was very small so, surprisingly, there weren't many people shopping on Black Friday. In the other town I lived in, since it was huge, there were a whole bunch of people, which, by the way, was absolutely insane.

While I do like getting stuff for less money [ woops. ], I don't think It's very worth it looking at other people's experiences. I'm sure It's different for everyone, though.

Black Friday is terrible imo.
The people here aren't really that violent since it's a pretty small town but usually by the time you get out of the crowd and aren't being shoved around everything's gone. That's why it's usually better to go shopping the day before, I mean sure you're paying more but atleast you can actually get what you want.
