Birthday coming up! Give me some 'must have 3ds games' advice ^__^

I think that Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (as well as the game to which it's a sequel, 999 on the DS) deserves a fair mention. It's a pretty popular locked-room puzzle game with a neat story, but it doesn't get the same kind of exposure that Mario and Pokemon get. It may not be the kind of thing you're looking for, but considering it hadn't been suggested yet, I thought it was at least worth pointing out an often-overlooked yet interesting game.

Just get more copies of Animal Crossing. =) Who needs other games?

But seriously, there's a ton of demos on the e-shop, so I'd recommend trying a few of those, and if you're stumped for what to ask for you can always ask for e-shop cards (if you're a fan of digital copies) and then decide later, or use the credit/money to buy the pokemon/Zelda games coming out later.

EDIT: Seeing as no ones mentioned it, Paper Mario: Sticker Star? ~ it's not as good as previous paper marios, but the game is still really fun, and as you want a difficult puzzle game that should work well. - I got stuck in every corner of everything I touched. (Still am for that matter xP) Or for an easier option, Luigi's mansion is def a good buy.

Though the only game other than AC to cap over 50 hours for me has been MK7, which you said you don't want. The online on that is pretty satisfying.

Thanks for your suggestions! :D
I'll write down every game you guys mention and download the demo if possible.

Harvest Moon: A New Beginning if you're into the HM series, I'm a big fan and I think it's one of the best in the series. Or Paper Mario: Sticker Star is really fun too
