I have 15 lol. I had more but I ended up never talking to them so I deleted them. We just talk to each other if we need anything and stuff or if we want to visit each others towns. I ended up becoming really close with some people because of the function.

I'm pretty careful when it comes to choosing my BFs. IRL I only have one friend who plays the game whom I've best friended.
I'm a bit leery about meeting new people online to begin with. Guess I'm also worried about those horror stories I keep reading about where if you leave someone unattended in your town they wreck havoc all over the place.
I met one girl whom I seemed to trust, though (even just a bit) and hope there are others like her.

I have 2. My bf and a TBT member who I feel happy to come over when my gates are open to BFs and have a wander.

This is of course once I figure out why my 3DS is the only device I have that won't work on my wifi despite 2 weeks of trouble free play until now!!!

I am always having to delete people who do not actually play to make room for new people who I think are cool. I stay at the 32 max until it is time to add another more recent person to my Best Friends list. It is such a cool function to be able to communicate even when I am not in another's town or they in mine.

I have about 8 so far, people I know irl with the game and people I have known for a long time on the net. I love that you can open your gates to just the people on your BF list. Recently I added someone I didn't know particularly well and she stole from my town so was taken off, I will be much more careful now.

I have five people, one is my actual best friend. Then the crest I've known online for a few years. I like playing with them and how easy it is to invite/be invited places.

I currently have two people on my best friend list. I trust them both quite well! To be honest, I only allow people on my best friend list to visit my town, unless I'm doing a trade.
