Best tips to get someone to move out?

I find it you talk to them a **** ton, they're more likely to leave. Or just not talk to them at all.
Both work for me.

You should probably time travel a lot more. Everything else you're doing has no effect on the chances of them leaving. If it's the last one to move in, then you probably won't be able to move them out.

I like to send garbage in those letters too, never talk to them, and just do what you're doing, it takes a while, but works for me. I've gotten Paula, Pompom, Broccolo, and Kid Cat out that way.

That doesn't work. Here's a thread that helped me personally: http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?300267-How-to-move-villagers-out-asap. And from experience, villagers I talk to a lot are always the ones that consider moving from time-to-time. I've tried the ignoring option and it never worked for me.

hey! ok this is just the basic way i get villagers to move out, i'm not sure if it actually works or not (because i time travel, it takes less time but there are some people that don't) but it seems to for me?? anyways, when i get a new plot for someone moving into my town, i check the villager out on the acnl wiki and see if i like their personality/design. if i don't, when they move in i talk to them once and then i don't interact with them again. i remember reading on a tumblr post that if you talk to the character more than once, the game puts you on a "friendship" route with them and they are less likely to move out... anyways, after typing all this out i found a more helpful post on this theory here, but i hope this helps!!

This remains to this day the most effective guide I've found, ever, on moving villagers out. It has gotten at least six villagers that I hated out of Baker in a very expedient time frame (Wart Jr, from move-in to move-out, took less than 2hrs to ping during my time traveling).

You start a new file introduce yourself to everyone and talk to everyone BUT the person you want to move out. And just ignore that one. Should be out in a week, or so.

Edit: introduce yourself to them but then never talk to them I mean.
Works with your main but you've already hit them n talked to them I bet.


Anything you do to them will make it not work.
No hitting. no pitfalls, no animal abuse, no mean letters.

The first thing you just suggested hasn't worked for me :/.

My method that seemed to work the best for me (that doesn't involve time traveling a few days ahead) is to just become good friends with them. As hard as it might be to befriend a villager you dislike, this seems to bring up the ping to move them out more often than not.
