best PS2 games

So I am getting a PS2, despite a first semester workload consisting of 17 credits on the horizon. What are some of the best RPGs for the thing? I already bought DQ 8...

I'm interesting in the following but may or may not get some of them based on the other suggestions I get in this thread:

Ico
Final Fantasy X and XII
Dark Cloud 1 and 2
Beyond Good and Evil
Sly 1-3
Katamari Damacy
Escape From Monkey Island
Zone of the Enders 1 and 2
Metal Gear Solid 1-3

If not, I'd suggest Ratchet and Clank 1-4, and the Jak and Daxter/ Jak games.

And Sly Cooper was great.

You should definitely get Shadow of the Colossus, it's great. If you like platformers I also suggest Psychonauts.

I haven't played many RPGs on PS2 but Final Fantasy X is pretty well regarded.

Yes! Get Battlefront II. In fact, get both Battlefronts.

Also check out the first Destroy all Humans and God of War. You have Shadow of Colossus and Dragon Quest listed on there which are other great games.

Well, I have a PS2, and I really only play RPG games. I can tell you that Final Fantasy X and XII are good. Dragon Quest VIII is good too.

Besides Resident Evil 4, those are the RPGs that I think you should try. You also have a pretty solid list of games to play, so you'll probably busy for a long time.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I already have some of the games listed, like RE4 for Gamecube, Okami on Wii, and Psychonauts through XBLA, but I will check out and consider the rest.

Get one! FFX is a GREAT game. It's worth getting at least a used PS2 to play it.

They are some very good RPG games, would very recommend the KH series & Shadow of the Colossus, both very good games. But there are a few other great games you might like alot.

Jak & Daxter series
Sly Cooper series
Killzone
God of War 1-2
Resident Evil 4

Theres a few others but I cant remember any, but all these games I enjoyed alot & hopefully you like em too
