i have only had one, just one, willing to move since march 20th... i need a way to move some of these dudes out, i don't care if they think my island is paradise, a few are annoying me a lot and i want them GONE. any suggestions?
so far i've tried:
  • beating on them till they fumed at me
  • walling them in - they escaped for periods, friggen houdinis, but mostly stayed confined in their houses for 5 days or more
  • ignoring them completely for a week
at least one of them is stalking me, she follows me around on the island, doesn't try and engage me, but hangs out wherever i am. it's getting creepy...

Smacking them, ignoring them, etc doesn't make them move out faster. Villagers literally will move out on their own time, randomly.

It takes about two weeks or more for a villager to ping and it's completely random. There's nothing you can do about it unfortunately...

If you TT is really easy to boot someone about every 2 weeks but if you don't TT its just random unfortunately

I don't know if ignoring them completely is a good idea. Villagers won't move in NH without your permission. When you see them walking around or standing somewhere thinking, talk to them. Either they will give you a gift or they will suggest moving. This is how you tell them to either move or stay. If they stay in their house for days and days at a time, you won't get to see them do the thinking thing. I've never seen the thinking done indoors. I've only seen it outdoors.

I've been talking with all my villagers on a semi-regular basis (with some bias towards the villagers I want to keep), and I've had pretty regular move outs every 10 days so far. Give or take a few days.

I don't know if this is a solid correlation, but I have found entering and exiting villager houses without saying anything and the those were the next villagers to ask to move. Again, no idea if there is proof to this method, it could be a coincidence

I know it doesn't exactly solve the issue you're having with villagers not asking to move, but if you have access to amiibos you could always just force out anyone who you don't want on your island. Sounds like it would be quicker for you at this rate...

she was confined to house/yard, and i checked her often while she was outside to look for that. gave up one wall her in 2 days ago, still no thought bubble and like i said she's stalking me around the island so her getting one would be easy to notice and ...nothing.
