What are methods you use to grow hybrids, and what things work better for you? For instance, I grow them better when placing diagonally and burying fertilizer next to one. Idk if this thread is noobish but I'm new to grow them and would like to know the best arrangements & etc so I can grow larger quantities in less time without time traveling a ton and ruining my town.

I'm new to growing them & still don't know really any combos that you use to breed certain types so if you have any of that miscellaneous info feel free to throw it in also
(Ex. This flower + this flower = this flower)

I get the best results when I place my flowers in an "H" formation with one or two color combos.
Ex: all red to get black hybrids, all white for purple hybrids or red and white to get pink hybrids, red and yellow for orange hybrids ..etc.
This formation leaves two spots open in the "H" for fertilizer to be buried.
I make sure to put them on a clear area, out in the open, with no shading. This layout gave me at least 2 hybrids at a time and on bright sunny days I have gotten as many as 4 :)
It took me a lot of trial and error to get more than one at a time. And I only started getting multiples when I enacted the beautiful town ordinance and also waters my "H"s at least once a day. Keep them sparkling and you get more new flowers.

I've been trying to do the diagonal configuration, too. And then I rearrange to put the hybrids next to each other as they start popping up. For a little while, I was only watering my carnations, and now I have a little patch of them going. But I don't know how effective I've really been at all of this. I think I might start trying this "H" thing. (BTW, I didn't know more hybrids would grow during sunny days.)

I've seen hybrid charts online by just googling, "acnl hybrid guide," or something, and a bunch of pix will come up.

place the two flowers together in a straight line, and make sure nothing is surrounding them.
O=flowers - = free space x - something else
---------------- --X-------------
------OO------ ------OO------
---------------- ---X------------
= correct way = incorrect way
You want to leave plenty of space around the flowers to allow the hybrids to grow

I'm not sure if it's a sunny day thing or whether it's just placing them out in the open with nothing too close to them. It may just be a coincidence, but when it is bright and sunny all day in my town I always have more new flowers the next day :) I find you can get more new hybrids on a diagonal than a straight line !! The "H" thing offers both.

I place them diagonally

[X= Flower]
00000
0X000
00X00
00000

*A new flower only grows next to the 'parent' flowers, not diagonally.
