Hi! I'm trying to decorate my island with flowers (around the town hall, in a park, etc) but I'm really struggling with it as I'm not very creative :( I'd really appreciate some help with your personal opinion of the best flower combinations, either type or colors (if you have photos or references it would be even better!). Thank you very much :D

So far my person favourites are:
- Tulips and Hyacinths
- Roses and Mums
- Roses and Windflowers
- Cosmos and Windflowers
- Pansies and Mums
- Tulips and Lilies

Sometimes I find that using the opposite contrasting colour sometimes is really appealing when using two different flowers together. So colours like this:

- Red and Green
- Purple and Yellow
- Blue and Orange
- Black and pretty much any colour since black is a neutral colour

I find it pretty appealing. In Animal Crossing, at least. Having green mums really made doing this a bit easier, as well.

I like to have little patches of the same type of flower in different colors for crossbreeding, or near where I'm going to place a path so it looks neat. You can fence some of them in with lattice fencing to make it look a little fancy.
I usually use a cross pattern for a better chance of getting hybrids. The colors you want will probably depend a bit on personal taste, but I also second the recommendations in the post above. Personally I really like purple and black flowers together.

I also have a fun experiment to help you figure out what you like: try assigning each of your villagers a specific color of a flower and plant a little patch of it outside their house. If you need a place to start, you can try making it match their color scheme, or the color of their house. For example, I'm planning to put orange roses outside of Audie's house because they look nice with her blue house exterior, and they match her colors too. I wish you luck in your decorating endeavors!
