Curious what all your setups are for beetle hunting at the beach. I've read some people cut down the trees in front which make them spawn more in the back, and others cut out everything but the middle trees (non-palm).

Curious if anyone has any ideal setups for maximum beetle catching :)

I've personally noticed the beetles only hit 3 trees top. I keep the others for fruit purposes but cuts down on bug population. Clear out most flowers. Same theory for butterflies, grasshoppers, etc. They want space and only limited choices.

For maximum beetles:
Cut down trees in the middle and clear out the flowers.
Keep the palm trees on the sides.
Idk that's what I do. You have to run to scare away the wharf roaches and what not but I've gotten a ton of beetles using this setup

Also.. best time to hunt for beetles would be 8 PM or later when the grasshoppers don't spawn.

I heard if you got rid of EVERYTHING except for 2-4 trees, beetles will appear a lot. I haven't tried this but most likely will at Club Tortimer where everything is calm

I have 1x Palm on the left & 1x Palm on the right. @ the center is just 1x Normal tree; sometimes, a Rainbow Stag/beetle will spawn on the Normal tree. Rare, but valuable. No flowers or bushes to deter the butterflies, & arrive after 8PM as Jessica posted.

Good luck!

I have 2 normal trees for rainbow and giant stags (I tend to get them a lot, maybe because I go later?) and 3 palms on each side. I do have some flowers so my island looks pretty when I visit with friends, and so I can come during the day if I need a rare butterfly.

I change my set-up a lot. I always keep a few coconuts/bananas on my beach so I can replant.

For the most part, I usually keep all the palm trees and 1 normal tree for rainbow stags and giant stags.
