Beetle Catching Tips

I just want to know if there are any tips for catching the really rare beetles. Like the gold ones or things. I can catch ones like the cyclomattus (lol sorry about spelling) and liken the Goliath beetles. But some I feel like they fly away when I a, so far away I don't know how you could get it haha.

Slowly creep up to them by holding A and take a few steps, stop, wait for them to move again, take a few more steps, stop, wait for them to move again and then catch when you are close enough.

I hold the A button and gently slide the circle pad in the direction I want to go. Makes your character move ridiculously slow.
Might want to start from a decent distance if it's something like the golden stag.
