So I've finished most of my island EXCEPT the beach areas o_O I like how everybody made it look like an ordinary beach with beach towels and poolside beds and stuff but I was wondering if anybody did something other than that? any good ideas?

i put shell lights with flowers on both sides of the coconut trees of mine. it looks nice at night, and kinda pretty during the day.

I did a cafe/resturant on the beach side of my island. And a bar that is a work in progress.
I'm also putting a restaurant area on one of the stones on the beaches!

I made one of mine into a pirate cove, using the short pier as the plank! (apologies to anyone who has seen these before, they're posted in a few different places)

What a creative idea; it looks fantastic! The ship complete with plank is my favorite part:)

Mine's not as unique as pirate cove, I just did a rocky coast rather than a tropical look. Bree's house was perfect for it.

omggg thats super pretty too! it looks rly peaceful

Mines a WIP but I'm going to make a little surfboard renting area with like surfy music playing, all the surfboard colours! Beaches are always that hardest places for me to think of ideas!

I'm waiting for inspiration to strike for something super unique. But so far I've made a beach club to the south-east.... A swimming pool on a large rock area on the west beach which has a great sunset view... and I'm working on a little area for an ice cream stall infront of Vesta and Plucky's house since they're right on the south beach.

Maybe a muscle beach outdoor gym next to Rudy's house haha?!

i've finished designing my south facing beaches. any ideas on the long east and west facing beaches?

LOVE the use of the stone walls on the beaches! LOVE it... I hope you don't mind if I get inspired by this, it's so subtle and unique... wow..

I love what you did here! Simple but very effective for the vibe you were going for. You've also inspired me to try out some stone walls at the beach...

The one thing that I did about my beaches was filling the borders with weeds, flower sprouts and picked flowers. They don't really grown on the sand so you can make pretty interesting textures with them, and I like the overgrown, natural look.

Other than that I have two villager houses at the beach, but no other projects really. But there's some really great ideas on this thread!

Thank you, it actually made me really happy to read these comments. If either of you are interested I have a few more shots of the surrounding area. I've only recently set it up so I can post some of my screenshots and in my excitement I may be going a little overboard lol.

The red lighthouse is just a placeholder, eventually I hope to replace it with the darker stone one

And I actually really liked the red lighthouse! But I'm sure the darker one will looked beautiful as well. I have a new found appreciation for white hyacinths now thanks to you!

I'm very flattered:) I've never done anything with social media before; I made a Twitter account just to post my screenshots from the switch to this forum. I do plan on posting plenty more here though! I would be absolutely delighted if people look at them when I do:)

I have one section that's spillover from the playground so it has toys scattered around. I have another section that looks like it's from a fishing village. It's incomplete because I don't have all the items I want for it yet, but here's a current picture. I scattered some of the clam-shell style shells to look like they'd been processed on the beach and discarded, used the logstakes, rope fence, and below what's pictured, the spiky fence, and obviously the fish drying rack. I want the fishing pole rack, too, and I wish there was some sort of boat item but I don't think there is.

Your fishing village looks great!

The closest thing I can think of for a boat would be the log bench, which I think you could possibly pass off as a boat under construction or something. A boat furnishing item would be nice. They have those bottled table-top boats, but I don't think that's what you're looking for lol.

Thanks! The wild log bench is a good idea, maybe I can do some of the other carpentry/construction-type stuff to emphasize that it's a boat being built. I really want an upside down boat but alas. 😂 I do have the ship-in-a-bottle but not quite the right vibe, no. I still don't have the wooden barrels either, but one or two of those will get added once I do.
