So I lurked on this website a bit when I played New Leaf but never actually traded any items or villagers, and I have some questions

I hope this is the right place to post...- Are you expected to have villagers you don't want in boxes/tell you they want to move before offering them up for trade? Particularly if you don't TT.
- Are you able to put a plot of land up for sale the same day that you invite a villager from someone else's town?
- Is there a way to end an island visit without saving if you suspect someone might be scamming you?
- If you visit someone's island to sell turnips, what is a good amount to tip? Is it based on a percentage of profit or something?
