Bamboo Not Spawning

I've got 2 fully grown bamboo trees , which used to spawn a star near them of a bamboo shoot, but they don't seem to do it now, for the past week

Does anyone know what factors prevent them from making new spawns appear for me to grow more?

Oh that's annoying, that's for confirming...wonder what I did with the shoots then as surely I should have 2 shoots somewhere

They did this to prevent the bamboo overgrowth from New Leaf. It kinda sucks because bamboo island is rare, and Daisy Mae only send you some if you spent a lot of money from turnips.

I think she sends it if you buy any. I have never bought more than ten stacks in one go on my own island and I’ve gotten bamboo from her even when I only bought one or two stacks.

That's strange, I've bought over 400ks worth from her on two occasions and never got anything in the mail, I'll see what happens this Sunday
Does she send bamboo if you buy turnips from another town as well?

I don't think so. I had good turnip prices yesterday, so my friend who time travels set her island to a Sunday and we both went back and forth a few times buying on her island and selling on mine. I don't have mail from Daisy Mae today. It must only trigger if you buy bamboo on your own island.

ahh i was wondering the same thing! super interesting. guess i do need to visit more bamboo islands.

I'm glad they did this. I was nervous about planting bamboo given how invasive it could be in New Leaf, and in real life!
