Hello everyone,

So I've made a very organised island, divided into sections with unique theme-tree-flower-shrub combinations. As a consequence, bamboos can't really fit in any of those so I had terraformed a special ground level section in my top cliff to make a secret bamboo grove shine thing with waterfalls and stone items.

I loved it for a time but now it feels like wasted space, I almost never go down and just like to peek at it when I pass it.

I am open to any ideas to "recycle" this part of my island, if anyone has managed to do something with those bamboos except a generic zen garden :)

Make a panda forest by sticking the bamboo on top of a mountain, and arrange stuffed Panda Baby, Mama, and Papa up there? I haven't seen your map, so I don't know if terraforming a mountain is possible.

Find a less social seeming villager, like a cranky character, who has an old fashioned house, and have them live there like a hermit.

Hah, I have an area sort of like that. It's a part of my second-level cliff. I scattered some tall garden rocks and mossy garden rocks around, plus a log bench, a street lamp, and I made a waterfall and a pond. Part is sectioned off with zen fencing. My whole second and third level are forest, so this area is bamboo.

Turn it into like a picnic area where villagers may actually go/be able to get to? My bamboo area has some stone/zen stuff, but also bamboo lunchbox, zen cushions, etc. I still don't necessarily get much use out of it, but it makes it more interesting.

Even though they have the same parameters as regular trees, the tops are quite full, and if they're planted 1 square apart, they look almost like a tall fence. Maybe you could alternate bamboo trees and actual fencing to make a private garden with flowers and fountains? (Oh $#*+ I might do that now that I think about it...)
Or around a cranky villager's house like Todd suggested? It would look decorative but still be harvestable.

My bamboo area right now is a little cluster near a waterfall, with a rock garden and some lanterns. Eventually, I think I want to model it after the cliche of a sword fight in a bamboo grove. I remember the PS1 game Bushido Blade had a stage where you could duel in the bamboo, and it was always a blast to cut the shoots down. It's kind of a film cliche to have a forest like that...so, that's what I want to do eventually...whenever I get a sword or two. Lol.

Thank you all for your ideas :)
The panda thing sounded really good but it might be redundant given that I already have a bear forest somewhere else (and a panda in my asian forest).
I will probably try to do something fence-like with terraforming and bamboos though
A picnic area would be so nice but I ran out of inclines to make it accessible for villagers (seriously Tom, come on...)
Oooh, I've never thought/seen a sword fight. I have heard on a youtube star wars themed island tour someone wanting to place vaulting poles, maybe mannequins to mimic a fight

I have the exact same bamboo grove situation as you and I think it needs to go. I hardly ever use bamboo these days anyway. I hope I can find a place to just stick a couple of trees!

I don't know if it makes actual, logical sense, but I used mine in my one tiny little tropical area. Aesthetically it looks good with tropical stuff! I only have a few though.

I've seen some people do some amazing, beautiful things with the zen look but it's not my favorite theme, so I didn't plan on having it on my island. Still, the idea of not having a gathering resource readily available drove me crazy (even if the only thing you really use bamboo for is zen stuff, which I didn't plan on using much of.) Besides, I love how bamboo looks in nh. Did it look this good in nl? I don't remember thinking it looked this good.

This is a really cute idea.
