Badge Arcade and Themes

I cant be the only one obsessed with the Nintendo 3DS Badge Arcade? and I miss the themes so badly to be honest, I wish my switch could be as beautifully decorated as my 3DS is. Did anybody else utilize the Badge Arcade and themes or am I just way too obsessed with my DS layout?

I definitely did! I loved the badges and all the themes....The only thing holding me back from spending all my money as a preteen/young teen was my mother haha...I've actually thought about this a lot

It'd be hard to have the badges back, as the slots for games on the switch are huge on the screen but there's no reason we can't at least have color themes or SOMETHING....as much as nintendo loves profit too, you'd really think paid switch themes would at least be a thing. I'd pay for an animal crossing theme background on my switch...

I used to play the Badge Arcade daily (only for free of course) but I stopped playing eventually since I had so many badges that it was forcing me to store some of them, which meant I couldn't even use them. Also I swear the game took longer to start the more badges I had...
I actually really liked the bunny even though he would not be quiet about buying things.

I'm not sure why the Switch doesn't have themes. It seems like something that should be there and I was actually expecting it to come but it never did.

l went on it everyday and get so many badges that l couldn't keep them all(dumb part about the game). I stopped going on it l think 4 or 5 years ago. But it felt great, l remember how l felt when l completed all the zelda badge sets. Played the game for free 95% of the time, l think l only paid 5 times but not all in one day. I must have only done it when l really had the chance to get the right badges when l ran out of plays. But mostly l just had luck, even on the hard plays. l wish l can play again for more monster hunter badges.

Back when the Nintendo Badge Arcade first released, I tried out the game for the first time and I quickly became addicted at collecting the badges that they had available in the arcade. There were a ton of badges waiting to be obtained and I couldn't wait to grab most of the badges that the arcade contained. Each day, I turned on my 3DS and immediately went to the Badge Arcade to pick up as many badges as I could grab from the claw machine. As my collection of badges rapidly increased, I had so many badges stored in my system and since I owned a large amount of badges, I had to switch out badges in exchange for new badges to be used on the home menu. I don't play with the Badge Arcade much anymore like I used to back in the badge collecting days, but it was still fun to be able to freely decorate the 3DS home screen with so much collectible badges.

I was also interested in giving my home menu a whole new look with the themes that were on sale for the 3DS. I am currently using the Mario Holiday theme since I like the holiday music that the theme plays every time I play with my 3DS. I was hoping for Nintendo to come out with themes for the Switch, but unfortunately, we can only stick with the themes that the 3DS has because Nintendo never bothered to add themes for the Switch sadly...

I honestly forgot all about the themes before coming across this thread. I remember messing around with the themes on the 3DS. I wish they were a feature for the Switch.

I forget about the badge arcade and 3DS themes until I do the occasional dust off of my 3DS, open it and think "GAH! What the hell!?" as I peer at the absolutely garish layout I left.

That said, I miss the customisation of themes, badges and folders. It's one of the many things I dislike about the Switch and another way it's needlessly took a step back from the 3DS. It annoys me the most that it literally has the option to change themes but you only get the option of white and black. Even simple primary colours would be something.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a feature they add to the Switch later in its life. I think that was the only poor decision regarding the 3DS, that they only added this stuff later in it's life and I didn't feel as comfortable paying for any of it with the feeling a console successor was just around the corner.

I miss badges SO MUCH. I PLAYED THAT THING TO DEATH. I loved everyday checking the new badges and getting free plays sometimes!! I loved it! I LOVE THE THEMES AS WELL. I always changed my 3ds animal crossing theme for the seasons!! I LOVE 3DS SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMIZATION. Switch just likes black and white.... NINTENDO WE WILL PAY YOU MONEY FOR THEMES GIVE THEM TO USSSS. Its just sad that we no longer have themes I loved them and badges were the most fun and cutest thing ever! My favorites were the ones that changed applications! Isabelle and her clipboard are the activity log or pikmin holding a camera!!

heck I still get on the Badge Arcade once in a while cause I still play my 3DS semi-regularly (more often than any other game console, including my switch). I love being able to decorate both my 3DSXLs with themes and badges, my pink 3DS has the eeveelutions theme and my main triforce 3DS has the Yoshi's Springtime Siesta theme (which is my favorite 3DS theme of all time).

I've been hoping that Nintendo would bring back themes on the Switch for a really long time, not only because they're cute in general but also because the Switch in its natural state is so boring and corporate it lowkey makes me wanna puke lmao. I would also love to see an overhaul of the home screen so that badges can be used like before. my primary concern is for themes and less so badges, though.

I bought WAY TO MANY themes they are great though! I play my 3ds alot still too! I also play my wii U more than my switch lol. I love both of those so much moree! I may only play wii U more because I recently found some old mario games that I miss I am getting a new 3ds in white with these cover plates so that mean even more badges!! I only have the old XL at the moment! I <3 badge arcade!!

Oh wait, y’all are talking about the covers with designs? I thought we were referring the themes on the home screen. I remember there being a Mario theme and probably a Zelda theme? The covers are still cool, though.

Remember nintendo gives us MANY choices on switch! Black and White! (This is a joke and I miss the old actually good themes and the amazing chefs kiss f badge arcade )
