Hello everyone!

I need a little information and advice. Recently, I caught the last bug I needed for my encyclopedia and handed it off to Blathers. I know that to receive the golden net, you have to speak to Nat at the Bug-Off. Monday was the last Bug-Off of the season... and I missed it. Like an idiot, I totally missed it. Sunday was me and my husband's first wedding anniversary, and Monday I had to go to work before the Bug-Off ended. So, with all of that on my mind, I forgot to go get my golden net. The next opportunity for me to get it isn't until June of 2016. JUNE!

So, that brings me to my question: Is it possible to time travel backwards and still see Nat at the Bug-Off tent? Or will he not be there anymore?

I have never time traveled in New Leaf before, and I really would prefer not to... but I also hate waiting months for something I finally achieved and should've gotten sooner.

I figured it would make sense to time travel backwards just a few days rather than forwards several months. That way, I can slowly travel back one day at a time and check on my town and villagers to make sure they don't move. Will that work? Has anyone time traveled backwards to a tourney before?

It would work.
But I think it would ruin the game for you. I mean, it might make you feel weird.
I don't like cheating, but it would work.

Travelling back, no matter how many days, only counts as if a day has passed! In reality it's only like timetravelling one day and there's a low, low chance of losing any villagers.

Slammint - Thanks for answering! I don't like cheating either, but I don't think it would ruin the whole game for me. I've played it since it came out, and I've always enjoyed Animal Crossing. I used to time travel a bit in the other games, but for reasons that I wouldn't now. To me, doing this would just be a minor cheat to get something I already earned and accidentally forgot to get.

Delishush - I know time traveling back isn't a problem, unless you have turnips. But I'm going to travel *forward* back to the correct date after getting my net. There's still a chance someone could move, and I really like most of my villagers.

I actually did this from Janurary to get my last bugs. You will see Nat again. It resets the prizes as if you did not participate at all, so as long as you go on that day you will see him. Just make sure when you're traveling forward that you check if your year is correct. I lost Snake due to this oversight. If you're time traveling days then maybe you can do it a couple every time, checking all villagers for any tumors and then making sure to shut down any move outs. Traveling forwards this way will be slower, but you'll have more of an opportunity to prevent move-outs.

I know how you feel about it. I only time travel to get rid of villagers and for things like this since I want to experience all aspects of the game and not have to wait and find out real time stuff comes in the way.

You can definitely tt forward with no problem either if you follow the same guide as moving out villagers. Just find a villager who pings about moving, ask them to stay, and voila save and tt forward however long you want and it should be no problem. That's what I do when I take a long hiatus from playing and I haven't had any problems with villagers moving out on me unexpectedly.

Plus it's only been about a week so it shouldn't be too bad if you decide to tt backwards, which you seem to already know counts as one day, and then tt day by day forward. However, day by day can be more risky if you don't check with everyone thoroughly for a move out ping. Use the rumor guide as well when talking to villagers to find out who is wanting to move.

Bug offs are on Saturday btw. It takes place every third Saturday of the months of June-Sept. But either way Nat should be there whenever the bug off is scheduled.
