Same thing happened to me but without the kitten! I gray cat would come every night and fight with my cat so we put out food for him and he gobbled it all down, must have been a stray. We wanted to go and pet him/meet him but he was way too scared to even come near us. I haven't seen him for a month now, hopefully he is okay.

but this morning he came by with a lil kitten!
