So, since I actually got some StreetPass hits yesterday for the first time in forever, and a villager recently moved out (so I have 9 villagers currently), I decided to be extra cautious today and check for StreetPass move-ins with a new character instead of one of my existing ones. So it turns out I actually do have a StreetPass villager moving in, a jock (my least favorite personality, ugh), Coach. I reset once and it was him again, and now his plot is in a pretty good spot. However... If there's any way for me to get rid of him, I'd love to hear it.

Since I haven't saved it, and only played with a new player character (ie no saving the loaded town), I'm wondering if it might be possible to time-travel? If I reset without saving and then time-travel to yesterday, will the jock have moved in to a random spot or will the plot just be gone? The latter would be great since I could probably get someone else to move in instead through the campsite, but I don't really want to try it without knowing what's gonna happen. Does anyone know?

I'm so annoyed, I could've done the reset trick yesterday to get someone from the campsite, but I was busy with friends and family since it was my birthday :/ So now I might be stuck with another of my least-favorite personality, what a nice birthday present...

I assume the last time you saved the game as your mayor was yesterday, correct? If not, let me know because this advice applies if this was the case.

Set your 3DS clock to yesterday. Load up the game as your mayor. It will count as though you're still yesterday, playing yesterday. There will be no plot since he's only plotting today. Go to the campsite and invite the one you want to move in. I believe this will override the other move-in because you can't have two villagers moving in at the same time. After you invite him to move in, set the 3DS clock to today and use a new character to check. He should have moved in instead of the streetpass villager.

A note of caution, when you're setting the clock to yesterday, don't TT back to an hour before the one you saved the game. I don't know if when you set your 3DS clock to yesterday and at a different hour if the game will consider that TTing but you'll want to be on the safe side, because TTing back is considered a day forward in the game. Meaning if you last saved at 5 PM and TT back to 3 PM, I think that will make the villager plot on that day... not sure on this one but I think TTing back hours counts as a day forward too, not just TTing back days.

By the way, if you'd like to prevent this from happening in future and have more control over your town, you can switch off Street Pass.

If you quit without saving and load up the previous day, there will be no plot. The plot is set for June 1st, so unless you actually load up an existing character on that day, it won't show up.

I kept my town on the same day for a while because of a void move-in (Curt I think), and instead adopted a villager that I wanted to override him. It sucks, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Thank you both! Unfortunately I played pretty late (by my standards) last night, so I TT'd back to 10:30 pm. I made a new character and walked around just to be sure, but there was no new plot, so I could play as my mayor without problem. However, I didn't have anyone in my campsite, so now I'll go hunting for someone to adopt elsewhere. I hope I can find a Punchy (I don't have a single lazy u__u), but we'll see how patient I can be since I won't be able to play until I adopt someone. And yeah, I really should disable StreetPass whenever I have less than 10 villagers, I didn't even think of that... Either way, thanks again for your help!
