Audie's sunglasses

so why am i just realizing her sunglasses is really unique to her. (okay, maybe label & gracie too. but they're not villagers)

unlike other villagers, they wear their accessories as normal. and if removed, you'll see their eyes. what happens if you gift audie glasses or other sunglasses?

Ooh I don't know, I never have Audie so I'm curious. Will she wear both of them? Maybe she replace it? Lol I'm really curious

she will replace it, but so far only for 1 day, then she switches back and you'll find the item displayed in her house

Yup she'll replace them and wear the gifted glasses/sunglasses like how other villagers wear them (i.e. over her eyes)

so wait if she's on harv's island, and you can experiment with her glasses.... i wonder if the sunglasses on top of her head can be removed? it looks different from the round shades or triangle shades. is it an in-game item or something that's just default for her design? if so, it's cool that she removes it when she'll wear another one.

She’ll also remove her sunglasses to wear hair accessories. She really likes to wear the hibiscus flowers I gave her.

On Harv's Island if you put face gear or a hat on her she'll remove her sunglasses on her head, but if you take off that face gear or hat she'll put the sunglasses back on her head. I was tryin to find a way for her to not wear anything since sunglasses didn't match with my slumber party theme.

As the other posts have said, they can be replaced with another item (ie. hats or glasses) and removed temporarily. Unfortunately, you can't permanently remove it or make them wear nothing in that clothing slot. Another villager who you can do this with is Jacques; you can fully expose his cute haircut if you make him wear small hats/head accessories.

It's a shame that this doesn't work with some villagers though (ie. Scoot wears hats over his swimming cap/helmet, Mira wears glasses over her mask, etc.); it was probably done on purpose, despite leading to some ridiculous looking results.
