it takes all my will to squid past uninked little patches. Sometimes i waste time connecting little pathes. Ahhh. But I just adore it. Even if im terrible at ranked.

Save them for when someone splats you, and cover them as you advance again, since super jumps can be pretty risky anyway.

I learned the hard way that I shouldn't necessarily cover the whole base all the time (be it from my team or not).

If you leave some empty space unpainted on your base, you can use that area if you get splatted and recharge your special attack quickly enough without too worrying too much on the chaos, provided your opponent is nowhere near to your base.

It's also kind of idiotic to ink in the least busy areas around your opponent's base, since they can easily paint them back and have their special attack ready faster.

If you're going to cover the enemy base, be sure to bottleneck them so they can't head out. I did this for basically an entire match on the Towers map. I actually felt a little evil. It's hard to make it in time to the right spot to do that though, though, especially if the opposing team has a good sniper.

I dont really stay in my base, i usually swing around the middle, this is mostly an issue for me because i get distracted too easily and it gets me splatted, ha ha. I know by now that there are spots you need to control and defend before you can wall the other team.
