Art Thieves

This site was brought to my attention by a friend, and I urge anyone who has a DA account (or posts their art online anywhere) to run a search for your username to see if your art was stolen. What these people are doing isn't just stealing art, they're selling it without the permission of the artist (which, with copyrighted material, is illegal).


Edit: Took the link out because it's been brought to my attention that it's possibly a phishing site. Instead, there's a petition going around to get the website (Wallpart) offline which I'll put up, instead.
Honestly, I don't think it's a phishing or virus-causing site, because my anti-virus is so sensitive that it blocks anything even remotely sensitive, and it had no issues with this site. However, I'd rather not take the chance.

Wow...thanks for bringing that to our attention. I can't believe people would be low down to do these kinds of stuff. I'm not a talented drawer or artist and all so yeah, but like some of the people above other people used their work of art to sell for some money...sheesh, the nerve.

I don't think iPads are all that vulnerable to viruses, but nevertheless, that's scary. I did search for my work, though, so I guess that means I should be expecting it to be on there at some point. Oh, goody!

I googled "Wallpart art theft" and clicked on the first link.

First link I found when I just did a search was to the petition to get it taken down (frankly, I don't know why there's a petition and nobody pushing for legal action); nothing on that it's a phishing or a site which puts viruses on the computer. Still, I took the link off since it's better safe than sorry.

Edit: As for the malware in the "report" link...people with an anti-virus program have nothing to worry about. It also seems the phishing is for credit card info. But again, I took the link off.

It's the "Report Violation" link and malware embedded on different part of the site.

So I went on it and searched a few terms so I did a computer scan for viruses and auch and I came out clean.
I signed the petition. We don't need more trash on the web.

guys the issue with this thing is that yeah like the post says, it uses google images to find ur art. but sometimes it would bring up porn and other sht. it happened to my friend and some popular deviantart user (she ended up getting a virus) and everyone started freaking out. im wondering how this site hasnt died yet tho, its been a long time
