Argh! Why can't we expand our rooms?

Anyone else bummed that they can't expand their side rooms?? I had so many plans for my house, but i can't do them now!! Totally sucks!!

yes!! i had big plans for my kitchen but the room is so small im having trouble fitting everything :/ might have to make it my upstairs room though id prefer it to be on the ground floor... no idea why they made it so we cant expand

I've seen awesome basement kitchens, but i wanted a museum/bug room like i had in NL, and a massive bedroom with bath.... urgh. I'm hoping new updates will eventually bring expansions!

i might be the only person who likes the small rooms. i always liked how cozy villager homes looked and it was hard to achieve that when all the rooms were maxed out.

i feel like the option to upgrade them will be patched in

I wish they are bigger as well! Too many things to place and not enough space. I remember reading an article that the side rooms in New Leaf are 8x8 and the ones in New Horizons are 6x6.

Yeah i understand that. I think having the option not to expand is good as well

if they do give us more decorating space, tbh, I hope it's making the 2 side rooms vertically tall (like the shape of the second floor/basement, but turned 90 degrees) and keeping the back room as-is

Yes, the side rooms were all able to be the same size as the middle one in NH

Unpopular opinion here but I like the small side rooms, it makes my house feel so cozy. Having the massive attic bugs me though. Or at least having one massive room upstairs and every other room is so small?

Definitely one of my bigger frustrations. Not
just because of the limitations themselves but because it feels so...unnecessary?

It feels like there’s zero reason / no excuse for it tbh. Like, often I agree with people saying this is a new game and we shouldn’t compare it to previous ones or expect the same features—but this just falls so below reasonable expectations and the system’s capacity. It just seems random and contradictory.

I think maybe they kept the side rooms small to keep the windows in the main room and have it make sense? I wish the back room was larger though since there is no reason not to have it bigger. Also when you graph out the house it is one wonky shaped building.

I wish they had the option for it, but not make it like an achievement or something...I just wanna make my kitchen bigger, my backroom and bathroom are good at the size they are rn for me

I hope on the new update they add more house upgrades. I dislike the tiny rooms, but those who enjoy them have the option to just not upgrade. ^^;

I am curious on what will be added that they didn't show... since no way they would show us everything. Lol.

Honestly, I wish I could downgrade my basement and attic to a normal square size, I kinda prefer the little rooms!

I'd like bigger rooms too. I want my kitchen to be the same size as the main room. There's so much stuff I want to fit in here.

I've also made one of the side rooms a little garden, and I need more space to fit more plants.
