There is a theory that ambidexterity does in fact not exist and that most people who claim to be ambidextrous are converted left-handers (people who are left-handed but for some reason do things such as writing with the right hand.) Left-handers used to be forced to write with the right hand but even today, left-handed children sometimes adopt to the righ-handed world and thus use the right hand for writing etc.

In any case, handedness is innate, it cannot be changed. Writing with the non-dominant hand may even damage the brain.

I'm right-handed 8)
boyfriend is ambidextrous, found him quite 'cool' when I first met him & noticed that lollz.

Wondering if cinny has the same 'experience' as me- boyfriend writes lefthanded and eats lefthanded, but plays golf with his right, same with guitar, and using a mouse for the computer?
Would that apply to what Vida said? Cause that's really interesting :o

That's called Mixed handedness

I'm practicing with my right and I can still do it but I'm a leftie especially when it comes to writing but in truth, I am ambidextrous! ;w; I had no idea I was until somebody mentioned the way I held things and I could use them with both hands. xD

I write with my right hand but my left side is stronger.

It's not really something I even noticed until the past few years because when I started figure skating I do it the lefty way, and my bf notices that I always use my left hand to do things that require more strength.

My parents and grandparents encourages using the right hand to do everything, but clearly that's not what works for me haha. When I write with my left hand, the writing is actually not that bad. It's certainly legible.

That said, I answered the poll as ambidextrous.
