So in Astoria I decorate for the seasons and big holidays. Halloween is coming up and I'm itching to change things already! I change the flag, town tune, paths, designs villagers can wear, and put up a few spooky things in my Mayor's home. (Once the holiday is over I change things to a more general Fall theme.)
I was wondering if anyone else did something like this? And if so, when will you be changing things? I think once September hits I'll start working on my paths. :3
Once you get all your paths placed down, its so worth it. Simply change the desired path design to the direction It was before and Ta-da! Before I go off topic, I'm too lazy to change to an according season. I time travel WAY too much, so there isn't any point.
I think my town looks best in the autumn because I have a lot of sweet olives and orange flowers. I won't be doing anything drastically spooky though, but maybe I'll put out a pumpkin or have each resident display candies for trick or treating
I'm gonna change my paths to autumn ones during september n halloween ones in october, and have a pumpkin patch qr (rn the farm patch is just a generic leafy qr). I'm also gonna have cute halloween and fall outfits up in able sisters for my villagers to wear! and a few dead trees scattered about as well
Yeah, I can see if you TT it wouldn't make much sense to change your paths, but at least that means less work!!
Everything you guys are doing sounds so, so cute! I really like your idea squidpops of a pumpkin patch with QR codes~ I might try that too. Maybe some QR codes of gravestones too for Halloween!
I was thinking of tweaking the interior of my house to more autumnish colors anyway, and will do some Halloween-like decorations, but probably won't do too much around town; I'm still working on planting trees and bushes, so that needs to continue, regardless of the season.
I try and keep my main room in my house in keeping with the time of year, I love changing it to Spooky for a month and then to festive ! I've purposefully sold all the items between each aswell so it's a race to get everything I want ready for the next big event, keeps things interesting and helps me converse with people on here. That said, I must start getting ready for Halloween !
I don't usually change paths for the season but I'll change flowers and bushes for example for October and November I'll have more orange flowers and olive shoots.
I'll also change the main room in my house: spooky/creepy for October, mushroom in November, jingle in December and ice/snowman for January.
As for spooky paths, there are only a few. In fact, I usually see the same few crop up, but they are all lovely. I like to mix and match sets of them sometimes where it works aesthetically.
I think decorating the main room of your house is such a great idea! I wish I had thought of that earlier. I will definitely set out some pumpkins though throughout the house. And candy!
In some of my older towns before I reset a lot, I had plans to change my paths and stuff to fit in with fall. In fact, at one point, I wanted to make a town that was set in October at all times.
I'm probably not gonna do anything fancy now, though. I could breed a bunch of orange and black flowers and decorate some areas in my town with those during October. Hmm.. actually, I think I'll do that
I wish that pumpkins were in this game ;-; you could pick em' up and set them down in front of houses.. that'd be really cute! Maybe they could make a special character who pulls a cart and sells pumpkins during the fall.
Oooh oh my goodness this sounds great! I hope you let people come visit when it's all done, I would love to see!!!!! I usually don't change things over, but I do have my Halloween themed rooms when the time comes, but that's about it. You're definitely inspiring me though!
no, I'm not planning to because I have a set theme for my town and I don't really want to change it very much. Maybe, I'll add leaves to my marble paths but that's pretty much it.
For Halloween I put the Jack N Box in the mayors house. One season I did put Perfect apples and lollipops along the pathways.
For Christmas the small festive tree gets sent to all the villagers. Place the small or white tree with the wreath in the mayor and side players houses.
Planted a lot of cedar trees last year for the Christmas lights and never removed them. Wished the lights were on all the trees and they lasted longer.
For New Year Eve I try to get the Boy villagers in Tuxedos. One villager kept his on till Spring and finally took it off. He was the MVP of the town.
