yes, at some point. maybe not at release, but definitely one i'll eventually get. why, i don't know.

I guess for me I really don't know.

The old Animal Crossing lover in me wants to buy it on day one, but the more realistic current me says I should wait and see the opinions of the naysayers. They're the ones that are right and if they say "this game is a huge letdown" I will rent it. Looking back on it, that's all I really should have done with City Folk.

Yeah, I'll wait to see if it proves itself worthy. It definitely has to have a new musical score, I don't want it to sound like anything off of Wild World/City Folk. The vibe that City Folk gave off was extremely boring, I could not play it for more than an hour or less. It's a new game, so it should give out a new feeling.

I may rent it or borrow it from a friend before purchasing, or just spoil myself by watching gameplay on YouTube.

i don't really understand the appeal of renting a game like animal crossing..
reasons being the game is meant to be played over long periods of time, and because unless you're playing city folk or the original/GC game, you're going to be losing your town and all your work every time you have to turn it back in. (unless you get lucky and rent it twice in a row w/o someone else renting it)

but eh. whatever works

Renting, as in seeing how it is first before purchasing. Like what Envy had said, renting City Folk would've been a good choice, because I extremely regret buying it in the first place.

I don't know if I'm going to get it or not, I'm still kind of back and forth on the prospect of getting a 3ds because of epilepsy and migranes, but I'm dying to get Ocarina of time again so it's kind of a crossroads here. If I do get one I'll probably pick up the AC game just because. Is there a release date on the 3Ds yet anyway?

I would love to, but I don't feel like dishing out more money on Nintendo products. My DSi works fine.

Sometime in March.

And I don't see the appeal in spending $50 on a game that I played for a week and can't bear to play at all anymore. In fact, I hate City Folk. I seriously think it was terrible and wasn't even worth a penny. I don't want to spend too much on a game when the series has a track record like that. This time Nintendo needs to earn their money. The Animal Crossing name is no longer one I trust.

You could also read reviews :/

Reviewers don't tend to like the Animal Crossing series all of that much to begin with, so them giving City Folk a 6 out of 10 wasn't going to influence me either way. They never have been really accurate and don't judge the games on the same basis that I do. So they're useless.
