Are Villager DIYs Personality Locked?

I tried googling threads of crafting different items and limit the search to TBT, it seems like the results of certain things being crafted are all crafter by a particular personality. For example, I tried searching “Gold Screen Crafting site:www.belltreeforums.com” and the results are always Smug Villagers crafting the Gold Screen Wall. Tried doing the same to ironwood table and it seems to be all cranky villagers.

Interesting! I think that would be a cool group project to work out to see what DIYs you can get from which type!

maybe some villagers are more likely to be crafting certain items? i tried using your google search trick for a lily crown since that's what plucky (my uchi) was crafting the other day and stumbled upon someone's thread about bree (a snooty villager) crafting the same thing.

Sounds plausible. I think another possibility would be some recipes are locked, but others can be crafted by multiple personalities.

I've believed this for a while now but haven't seen anyone make a guide about it yet! If you invite amiibo villagers, certain types seem to request for certain things more that seem to be the kind of recipes they'd normally hand out.

Maybe each recipe is tied to 2 or 3 personality types? I've had my snooty, smug, and cranky villagers craft ironwood furniture so far. Makes sense for certain ones to be tied, like a tiny library being crafted by normal types which is the more bookish personality.

I think they might be. I know I was looking for the flower stand DIY for days and every time someone mentioned having a villager crafting it, it was always an Uchi. There have been a couple of recipes I've noticed seem to go with personality. I've had like two days where my snooty villager was crafting a money floor. Every time I've seen someone in the airport advertising a money floor DIY, it's always been a snooty villager crafting it. My jock is always crafting barbells too, which seems pretty jock-ish. I've seen Teddy crafting barbells like two or three times, but don't think I've ever seen anyone else doing it.

I think this is a very plausible theory! I'd definitely be interested in helping your research.

Three I can remember:

• Fauna (normal), peach wall
