Have you noticed that "Barold" is a portmanteau of "Harold" and "Bear"?
I though Barold was famous for being hated because on GameFAQs, there was a thread about someone talking about his/her experience with Barold and what damage he has done to his/her town, and I figure that a lot of people hate him.
Wouldn't it be funny if a diehard Marshal fan loses Marshal as Barold takes Marshal's spot?

Yeah, that's basically why people hate Pietro...
Quite alot of villagers get hated for looks, examples are Coco (often found 'creepy'), Jambette (just plain weird), Charlise, Clause, Barold, Gruff, Harry, Hippeux, Elise, Canberra (her eyes) and sometimes Pietro

I don't hear much about the unpopular villagers, but I feel that Violet, Diva, and Rocket are commonly hated among the forums. ; o ; I don't think the gorillas are ugly, but a lot of people seem to disagree with me.
Katt isn't bad imo, and Pietro is really cute. The only villager I can't stand is Rasher. It's a long story. ; v ;
