are the stumps random?

Can I reset until I get it?
Because I want to do a lot of the heart stump and got my silver axe

It's random each time. To avoid wearing out your axe, hit the tree twice with a golden axe and once with a silver one. Of course, if it doesn't give you the design you want I guess you could reset, assuming you saved just before attacking the tree, lol.

Yes, it's random. I have three stumps in my town and I wanted each one to have a different pattern. I got the first one, saved, got a different one for the second stump, saved, and I got a repeat on the third stump. I reset and was able to get a new one on the next try.

I doubt this has anything to do with anything, but I always seem to get a heart when I chop from the right side. LOL
