Are hyacinths hard to breed?

They were the fastest to breed for me, wasn't even trying, and got them all a couple days after release.

i've personally never had any trouble with pinks or purples but the blue have been pretty stubborn! i wouldn't say hyacinths are more difficult to breed compared to other flowers, though, at least from my personal experience. but to be fair, hyacinths are my native flower so i see so many that i start to lose count a little haha

I bought purple and they’ve been reproducing smoothly, the blue one have been easier for me, and the pinks take a little longer than both I can manage, BUT the Orange ones, ohhh those are something else for me I only have one, it took forever to get orange and now it seems to be taking forever to clone it.

I have just a few blue and got my first purple a few days ago. I have been finding them harder to breed than, say, the cosmos or pansies.

The purple hyacinth definitely took me quite a bit of time compared to the purple pansies/purple tulips. I got one sometime last week and it still hasn't cloned itself yet...:/

I have so many blue ones I'll eventually try to sell/trade some, but the pink/orange/purple ones?? They're nowhere to be found it's getting discouraging haha

Orange were easy for me to get. Pink and blue a bit harder. But @$#%ing purple?! Eluding me.

My orange hyacinths grow more frequently, and with that, the purple ones do too. As someone else mentioned, I probably get roughly one a day from my small patch c: Pink ones however, are extremely stingy, and I'm having quite a difficult time getting those to breed ;w; Blue ones, my friend gave me 2 and they breed together a lot, but frankly, I think i have grown like 2-4 blue ones on my own, so I would say those are harder to grow as well from the base colors

mums, however, were a journey. caved and bought green ones so I could breed those more easily. My mums refused to make purples (from either method of whitexwhite or hybrid yellow x hyrbid yellow

Hyacinths were my starter flower, so maybe that's why I have so many hybrids of them. Make sure you're using whites only together to get blues and oranges only together for purple. Start from seed as much as you can. Once you get one, put it by itself, with all empty space around it and see if it will clone. Cloning is easier than breeding.

Now, if I could just get a stupid purple windflower...

I got very lucky and found the hyacint hybrid mystery island quite early,
so I just planted those on my island and they all reproduced quite fast
the slowest were probably the blue and the orange ones
the pink ones did okay with cloning, and once you have the purple (blue+blue) they will clone quite fast!

Pink and blue were easy for me, and orange wasn't too bad, either. But purple was a nightmare; it took like over a month for me and I finally got my first one two days ago!

Not for me, but it rained a lot on my island at some point. Ended up getting a lot of blue and pink ones, though no purple yet

i think it depends actually. i didn't have hyacinths at first, but then i bought so much seeds from friends as i like them a lot and now it was the easiest for me. i have so many hybrids. i'm struggling with getting more black roses, black lilies and black cosmos instead.

Because I can't for the love of Tom Nook get any hyacinth hybrids for some reason and I've been doing the checkered pattern guide to get it to work but so far only two grew in separate weeks (like 1 per week so far).

There are! The hyacinth hybrid colors are: pink, blue, orange and purple!

For me they are REALLY HARD to get , blue ones took AGES to breed , and not even breeding blue x blue flowers or trying to clone them would make a new one appear , they are pretty annoying to get , and same goes for the pink ones.
