My town has always been very male dominated, I just enjoy their personalities more so than the females.
I have 4 female dreamies right now (was going to swap Rosie out for peanut but I received a left from her yesterday and now I'm wavering a bit).
But, if my list is right, I can finally get Zell back. I lost him accidently after only having him a few days. I love the smugs
But the only real option to leave would be Molly. I only just got her too, but I have maple and fauna who I adore. The other choice would be letting go of Rudy :'( and get Zell in his place.

Basically wondering if you find it makes much difference having a female or male majority in town. I have all the PWPs now so that's not an issue. I adore lazy/smug/cranky so none of them could leave....especially not my Bob, punchy, fang or marshal.

Should I just stick with it now for the sake of keeping a better balance between genders. Or get Zell back in place of Molly?

Really stuck on it....currently have Rudy agreeing to move to keep my options open. But I think I'll have to tell him to stay. He's the only jock I've ever loved

Such problems ;)

I can't care less for gender ratio, I just want the villagers I really enjoy.
I don't think it will make any difference in your gameplay to have a not balanced gender ratio in your town, at all. :)

Ah, I see your town is similar to what mine would be. With my 3 females and your 3 males
I've actually even been going round checking signatures for what other people's gender ratio is, haha. So I'm glad to find somebody else who has done something similar to what I'm wanting.

My thinking right now is that my town is near completion, I have all the PWPs so I can finally get all the villagers I want without worrying about having one of each personality, etc. Plus I don't know how much longer I will be able to play daily. So I might as well get a town full of villagers I love while I can enjoy them all

Genders are not important
Some people prefer to have 5 and 5
But really you can have what you want
Besides in my 2 towns
In one I have 6 girls and 4 boys
While lovely it's 5 for each because there like a couple
And my future town
It will have also many girls
And the other 5 of each gender

Because of 2 reason
1. Working with the theme
2. Designs of how animal looks

I never really paid any attention to what gender my villagers are to be honest although I remember thinking Beau was a girl for the longest time before I noticed the colours.

i dont think the gender is important, but i dislike not having a town with all personalities so all my towns are pretty even gender wise

I don't really care that much either about whether I have more males or female villagers, the ratio doesn't affect the gameplay at all in any way so really I'm just happy to HAVE villagers in the first place :P

it doesn't really matter how you do it. i mean, it's your town and there's not much you can do with it that'll offend me.

personally, i like having pretty even genders. 6:4 is okay, but once the ratio of girls to boys was 9:1 and it felt kinda awkward to say the least. at one point i also had 4 boys in my town and they were all lazy (chester, jeremiah, zucker and spork).

I have mostly girls in my town. If you have all of the PWPs, I don't see why gender ratio would matter as long as you like them. Good luck getting Zell back!

I tend to notice for gender ratio, I just want the villagers I really enjoy interacting with and cute ^^.

I don't think it makes any difference to have a not balanced gender ratio in your town, I guess it will be less gossiping about who is who's love interest but other than that, villages will just gossip about each other based their personalities and if there is any clash (eg: sport vs lazy) etc.

I have 5 and 5 too but it was a coincidence, since I happen to adore the cranky and the normal personalities. Either way, I must have 1 of each personality; I don't like lacking villagers of a certain personality.

to be honest, i didnt think that mattered in animal crossing
i thought it was based on personality or species

take mine for example
-edit kyle isnt there, its now marshal-

cats, wolves, rabbits, squirrels, and one deer
snooty, peppy, cranky,lazy and smug

ok its all popular villagers XD sue me

it really doesn't matter to me as long as i love the villagers. my town rn is almost even with 6 female and 4 male villagers.

I'm pretty sure my town only has 2 male villagers in it. It can get boring without a bigger range of personalities, but too many male villagers are ugly or weird looking, plus I can't stand smug villagers so that rules out an entire personality for me

I always end up with more girls than boys in my town..I guess I find girls more cute than boy villagers XD

Thank you for all the replies!
I feel much better about just going for it now! At one point my town had Marina, that was it. The only female...and I have to say that was a little strange. But I just haven't found or even tried out many girls in my town, Whitney/Skye/Marina/Diana and the 3 I have now. Whereas male villagers I've had loads and these even more I like the look of. But Zell was one of my first dreamies, I never even thought I'd manage a 16 villager cycle. But while I've been trying to get the villagers I want permanently it just happened :)
I'll be left with 3 girls and I think I'm okay with that....at some point, maybe soon, I'll have ago at getting peanut or lolly too and move some of the boys over to my cycle town once my second ds arrives. But in the mean time I feel much happier with the majority of boys :)
It kind of makes my girls special too....they can have their pick and play the field ;)
Thank you all for your helpful answers!

Oh and the repetitive personalities thing doesn't bother me really, I guess I love who I chose too much for them to ever annoy me. Although I have to say when I had beau and punchy at the same time it got a bit weird, since their birthdays are so close together they are strangely so similar....

At this point, I'd say do what you want. I'm sure my town will be highly female populated simply because I like their villagers more.

It's your town so who cares what gender your villagers are? Do what makes you happy. :)

Thank you :) I'm just funny like that, wondering how it looks and what other people have done. The fact that half the people don't really seem to notice helps!
