So nintendo just released a tweet saying Tom Nook knows what to do wirh your tax return meaning you should buy a nintendo switch. But what if they mean the game will be released April 15 and thats the same day the guy is returing from nintendo. What do you guys think, maybe overthinking this.

april 15th is in less than a month, there is absolutely no chance the game would be released then considering that 1. we have heard absolutely nothing since the original teaser and 2. the original teaser only released in september.

we don't even have a trailer yet. No way we're getting a release that soon

I mean I'd like the game to be released sooner rather than later, but we havent recieved any news about the game so far, so we probably have a bit before it releases since we need some trailers

This game is most likely a Holiday release for this year.

Think about it. Every year, (Except 2015) Nintendo had a big game that has always released during November/December.

Lets recap, from 2011:

2011: Skyward Sword and 3D Land (I feel as both of these games are big titles to bring out that year)
2012: Animal Crossing: New Leaf (F.Y.I. this only counts because it released in Japan that year)
2013: Super Mario 3D World
2014: Super Smash Bros for Wii U (3DS Kind of counts, but it seems as if the Wii U was bigger)
2015: I don't know. Though I guess it could have been BOTW if it wasn't delayed... Couldn't have been Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash. That game was forgettable.
2016: Technically BOTW because it was focused at that year's E3, but it wasn't released until 2017.
2017: Super Mario Odyssey (Yes, it released in October. But late October so it still counts as a Holiday release)
2018: Super Smash Bros Ultimate
2019: Animal Crossing Switch

It pretty much works that Nintendo's VERY BIG titles ALMOST ALWAYS release on Holidays of the end of every year. (The only reason why I say almost always is because AC:NL released in 2013 everywhere else. And Splatoon is a big title, but its usually a Summer release)

Now, about that April 15 thing, I'm sure it was only a coincidence. Have you ever seen Directs fall on a Monday? No? I don't think so either. But the info for AC Switch will come soon before E3. They'll probably show it off in another Direct with little info about the game, a release date, the title name, and more info, gameplay and the fact that it'll be the game Nintendo will focus at during E3.

(Disclaimer: I'm not a dataminer/leaker/rumor spreader. So don't take this literally, please.)

I mean isnt pokemon sword and shield also a big game that could also be released instead for the Holiday release since it was just announced?

Pokemon is not afflicted with Nintendo. Its mostly Gamefreak's job.

Although Nintendo helps with Pokemon, it's not Nintendo's job to keep up with it.

We're picking at crumbs now. Everything we get will be a sign.

Maybe if anything we?ll get some more information on April 15th? It seems like a bit of a stretch though still.

The closest thing we'd get on April 15th would be a trailer. Doubtful on release, as that is way too soon after.
Hence, we haven't seen anything at all except the fact we'll get it, just doesn't leave enough to get it so early next month.

I'm honestly thinking it will be around September/October. If we get it earlier, amazing. If not, I won't be surprised.

I'm not following how you got that date from that tweet. But the game won't release and Wednesday is Nintendos direct day this year so I dont think anything about April 15th is valid.
