This month marks my fifth anniversary playing ?Animal Crossing: New Leaf.? I wanted to come up with a thread in which I list villagers, based on their appearance, whose very designs have impressed me most. Setting aside the additional amiibo villagers, I focused on just pre-amiibo villagers. There are more than 300 to consider. (My second town, ACNLpics, houses the pictures of all villagers between four human?s houses. Link: http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?409040-Re-Introduction-ACNLpics&highlight= .) Since I wanted to include pictures, and I am limited to posting 15, they appear on the list. I have honorable mentions to bring this to 20. So, here with their amiibo card pictures, is my Appreciation list of ?Classic Beauties.? (I invite everyone to list theirs.)
01. Stitches? The best! A perfect, classic design. He is that eternally cute, stuffed animal. Stitches is that little lazy bear cub who makes you want to reach for and hug him. He is a boy forever. A Classic Beauty.
02. Fauna? The best female design! A Walt Disney-level design. I look at this normal deer and wonder, just for a moment, Is Fauna too good for ?Animal Crossing: New Leaf?? Appearance wise, Fauna is the most beautiful villager.
03. Julian? When I first joined here in 2013, smug Julian was the most sought-after villager. A horse, with also the appearance of a unicorn, he has a medium light blue hue. His favorite tune, ?Stale Cupcakes,? feels like it belongs to him. Julian is his own spirit.
04. Merengue?A sweet, strawberry shortcake rhino?whose colors are a balance of light pink and white?the normal Merengue is who you look to first for those villages who love the kitchen.
05. Marshal? An awesome white squirrel; a smug, who looks like he may have an attitude but is actually a sensitive friend who reaches out to you. Marshal is a great example of how there is more than what meets the eye.
06. Tia?A picture of innocence. The white fur with accents of yellow and blue, and with her tea-loving theme, makes for a beautiful?but not an overly sweet?and normal elephant.
07. Beau?As described by http://animalcrossing.wikia.com/wiki/Beau , the dewy-eyed ?Beau has the appearance of either an impala, a kob or a pronghorn which are all species of antelope.?
08. Rosie?Gorgeous! There are 22 cats (not counting amiibo characters). Rosie, with her blue fur and dazed tee shirt, is a work of peppy perfection. And, like other peppies in ?Animal Crossing: New Leaf,? she thinks of herself as a star. Rose is a star!
09. Ankha? An Egyptian-inspired cat of blue and yellow hue. If one were to design a cats-only town, it would feel awfully strange, and lacking in representation, to not include this unique snooty.
10. Molly? An earth-toned duck with a sweetness, normal Molly has deep, soulful eyes. Come to think?that is Molly?s most striking feature: her eyes. I find Molly adorable?and relatable?and many who here already here, c. 2013 and 2014, thank YouTube?s chuggaaconroy for turning us onto Molly. (YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=chuggaaconroy .)
11. Diana? The overall best species design are the deer. This snooty is radiant. She looks like a snooty, yes, but Diana is a quiet and approachable one at that. She wants to be a snooty who always has class. She succeeds.
12. Ribbot? The best frog design! This jock is an awesome combination of robot and frog. The gray, with a blue undertone, gives the appearance of a beautiful metal. With a remarkable design, Ribbot is a blast.
13. Phoebe? This wild design for an uchi ostrich shows us Phoebe has star quality. When The Bell Tree Forums maintained a popularity list, established before the amiibo cards could be used for getting wanted villagers, Phoebe was the only uchi who ranked among the top tier in sought-after villagers. (Note: If any of my recollection on this is incorrect, I apologize.)
14. Pietro?A crazy, hilarious sheep design inspired by clowns. Pietro has had his detractors. Some may find this inclusion awful. But, not every character should look like he can be in a beauty contest. Smug Pietro?as hideous as some find him?is an example of good design because he looks somewhat creepy. This was intentional. He is, of course, unforgettable.
15. Pinky? The pink coloring of this bear, combined with her white fur, and especially around her eyes, make this peppy bear a lovely and lively creation.
Honorable mentions (in alphabetical order): Smug koala Eugene; Cranky werewolf Fang; Jock cat Kid Cat; Lazy dog Lucky; and Peppy penguin Sprinkle.
